Chapter 34

‘Can I come in?’ Rapunzel asked.

Hope turned around and nodded. Hope was sitting on her bed, patting Amity. Rapunzel walked in, closing the door behind her and sitting down on Hope’s bed, next to her.

‘Your mom told me about the signs on your hand.’ Rapunzel said.

Hope looked up.

‘Can I see them?’ she asked.

Hope nodded and gave Rapunzel her hand. Rapunzel inspected the signs and then looked up at Hope.

‘You’ve got rare magic inside you.’ Rapunzel said.

‘Special magic and at the moment, you’re the only one who has it.’ she said.

‘Really?’ Hope asked.

Rapunzel nodded.

‘I can help you control that magic.’ Rapunzel said.

‘It’s now controlled by your emotions, I can help you take control over them, instead of the magic taking control over you.’ Rapunzel said.

‘Finn told me that the song I use to heal people- well he heard you sing it.’ Hope said.

Rapunzel nodded.

‘I healed your mother when she was pregnant with you, she was very ill and if I hadn’t helped her like that she would probably have died.’ Rapunzel said.

‘As I used my magic on her, your magic and mine came together.’ Rapunzel said.

‘That’s what I think at least.’ she said.

Hope nodded.

‘Is it a good or bad thing?’ Hope asked.

‘Depends on which side you’re on.’ Rapunzel said.

‘It will be a little bit harder to control your magic, but in the end it’ll work out.’ Rapunzel said.

Hope nodded again.

‘Those signs, when appeared the first one?’ Rapunzel asked.

‘This one, the blue star.’ Hope said showing her right thumb.

‘It appeared after I brought Faith back from death.’ Hope said.

‘You did what?’ Rapunzel asked.

‘Faith had died after a witch cut her throat. It just happened. I cried and after a teardrop had landed on her neck it started to lit and she came back to life.’ Hope told her.

‘I’ll go to Faith after we’re done here.’ Rapunzel said.

‘I have been using the healing incantation on her every day, because she would faint when it took too long. Maybe even died later.’ Hope said.

Rapunzel nodded.

‘You did a good thing.’ Rapunzel said.

‘But be careful what you do with magic.’ she said.

‘Magic has its price.’

Hope nodded.

‘I will.’ she said.

Rapunzel smiled.

‘Just enjoy being home now and don’t worry about anything.’ Rapunzel said.

‘Try to let go of the stress and don’t think too much, I know it’s easier said than done, but try.’

Hope nodded.
