Chapter 28

Hope took in a deep breath. She could hear people talk inside the huge ballroom. She was standing on top of the stairs and was trying to get some courage to walk down. She never liked to be the centre of attention. She blushed easily and thought it was embarrassing. She always had the feeling people were judging her and it made her anxious. Faith had already gone downstairs, to tell Charming and Snow Hope was done. Hope could feel her heartbeat raise as she started her walk down the stairs. The doors of the ballroom where open and she stopped at the end of the stairs to take another deep breath.

I can do this. I can do this! No I can’t! What if I trip and make a fool of myself! I’m about to walk into a room filled with people who I don’t know! Maybe never even heard of! Probably never heard of…. or they were in the book. DOES IT MATTER I’VE NEVER MET THEM IN PERSON! WHAT ARE THEY DOING TO ME! Do princesses normally like parties? Because that would mean I won’t ever be a perfect princess, I don’t like parties! I don’t! Oh no there is someone coming.

Hope fast hid behind a pillar, almost losing her shoe in her fast move.

‘Excuse me my lady, but what are you doing there?’ A male voice asked.

Hope looked up and saw a handsome young man standing in front of her. His locks where a golden blonde and she could see through his clothes he was muscular.

‘I- erm…. I just almost lost my shoe.’ Hope said.

The young man raised his eyebrows.

‘Can I help?’ he asked.

‘Oh no, I’ve already fixed it.’ Hope told him waving it away.

‘Okay, do you want to join me to the party?’ he asked offering his arm.

‘I… I’m actually waiting here. I’m not feeling very well.’ Hope said.

‘Do you want me to stay with you?’ he asked her.

‘No thank you, just go enjoy the party.’ Hope smiled.

‘How can I enjoy a party when I know you’re not feeling well and you’re being alone here?’ the lad asked.

‘I’m fine.’ Hope said.

He raised his eyebrows and smiled at her.

‘My name is Jace.’ he told her.

‘Nice to meet you Jace.’ Hope said with a small smile.

‘Will I see you inside?’ Jace asked.

‘Maybe.’ Hope said.

‘I’m not going away, before you promised.’ Jace said.

‘Okay, I promise.’ Hope said.

Jace smiled.

‘See you in a few minutes then.’ he said smirking.

Hope gave him a small smile and a nod.

‘See you inside.’ she said.

He nodded and walked away. Hope wanted to step from behind the pillar when she heard another pair of footsteps. She saw a pair of brown shoes that stopped. Hope looked around the pillar and a young man was standing with his back towards her. His hair was brown and he was taller than she was. He was wearing quite nice clothes.

So that’s how the man dress at a party here.

The man started to turn around and Hope fast jerked her head back.

‘Hope?’ A man said.

Hope lifted her head up and saw Prince Charming standing there.

‘What are you doing there?’ He asked.
