How can this be? How can I, someone who knows nothing about this world, be the saviour of it? What kind of logic is that? EXACTLY NONE! Who came up with this stupid idea? I mean come on, look at me! I’ve got a fear of heights, I’ve got a HUGE fear of spiders and that’s not even all!
Out of the corner of her eye Hope saw Amity move, taking another position in her sleep and then she heard something in the hallway. Hope frowned and decided to take a look. Hope got out of bed and walked in her pyjamas towards the door. It was dark in the hallway, but she just saw a shadow pass the corner. Hope walked out of her room, following the shadow around the corner. Hope walked after the black figure, through the corridor, down the stairs and then out of the castle, through a back entrance. Hope closed the door behind her and then saw the shadow she had been following, was a male. Hope walked closer and saw from his back and the way he was standing it was Finn.
‘Finn? What are you doing here?’ Hope asked.
Finn turned around with a surprised look.
‘I can ask you the same.’ Finn said.
‘I was first.’
‘I couldn’t sleep.’ Finn said.
‘Again?’ Hope asked.
Finn nodded.
‘Me neither.’ Hope said.
Finn gave her a small smile.
‘Again?’ he asked.
‘Yes, again something shocking came my way.’ Hope said.
Finn nodded.
‘Come here.’ Finn said.
Hope raised her eyebrows.
‘I want to show you something.’ he said reaching his hand out for her.
Hope took a few steps closer and grabbed his hand. Finn pulled her with him and then they came in another part of the apparently huge garden.
‘Close your eyes.’ Finn said.
‘Who says you’re not going to let me walk into a tree or something, or worse, a pond.’ Hope said.
‘How dare you think of me like that! I would never do that!’ Finn said.
Hope laughed.
‘Whatever you like to think charming.’ Hope said.
Finn gave her a cheeky smile and Hope closed her eyes.
‘Keep them closed.’ Finn said.
‘Yeah, yeah.’ Hope said.
Finn carefully pulled her with him and then he stopped.
‘Okay open them.’ he said.
Hope opened her eyes and saw hundreds, maybe even thousands of little lights drifting in the air.
‘Fireflies.’ Hope gasped.
Finn nodded.
‘Beautiful, isn’t it?’ he said.
‘Yes,’ Hope said looking around ‘it is.’
‘My mom took me here when I was younger.’ Finn told Hope.
Hope looked up at him.
‘She told me this was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen.’ Finn went on.
‘And she told me to save this place for someone special.’ Finn said still looking at the fireflies.
‘And? Did you find someone special to share this with?’ Hope asked.
