Chapter 49

‘Will you marry me?’ Jace asked.

Hope felt like she was going to puke any minute now. What the hell was she supposed to say? She was not ready at all to get married, she just turned 18! That’s way to young that get married!

Hope looked around her and saw people gasping, she turned to look at her parents who were looking at her wide eyed. Her gaze travelled over the faces of the people, then she saw Finn. He looked shocked, hurt and worse of all it seemed like he was panicking. She was scared for what he would do, but he stayed there, locking eyes with her.

‘I’d like to have an answer.’ Jace chuckled.

Hope turned back to Jace and just when she opened her mouth something happened. The lights switched off and when they switched back on again, someone had appeared in the middle of the ballroom.

‘Well well, look what’s happening here.’ the Evil Queen said.

Jace got off his knee and stood up. Hope looked at the Evil Queen.

‘What are you doing here?’ Hope asked.

The Evil Queen smirked.

‘I wouldn’t want to miss this party, I guess my invitation has been lost after sending it.’ she said.

‘You can’t trust anybody anymore these days.’ she added smirking.

Charming came out from the crowd and stood in front of Hope.

‘Go and no one will harm you.’ Charming said, his hand ready to pull his sword out.

The Evil Queen laughed.

‘No one will harm me? Oh dear, thank you for the offer, but we both know no one can harm me.’ she smirked.

‘Didn’t I tell you there would be a huge plot twist today?’ the Evil Queen asked as she looked at Jace.

‘You talked to her?’ Charming asked, not turning around to look her in the eyes.

‘No, I haven’t.’ Hope said.

‘Don’t lie honey, I congratulate you past night.’ the Evil Queen said.

‘It was real.’ Hope breathed.

‘Of course it was real.’ the Evil Queen said rolling her eyes.

‘Don’t be so melodramatic.’ she said.

‘Now I’m here to give you an offer.’ the Evil Queen said.

‘We don’t-‘ Charming started.

‘Tu tu, not you, her.’ the Evil Queen said looking at Hope.

‘If you come with me, right now, I won’t harm anyone in this ballroom.’ the Evil Queen said.

‘If you don’t come with me, everyone will be harmed and I don’t stop before everyone you care about is dead and rotting in the ground.’ she said.

That’s when Charming pulled his sword out and held it in front of him.

‘She’s not coming with you.’ Snow said.

Hope hadn’t even noticed her mother coming up to her.

‘How sweet motherly love, I’m not asking you though, I’m offering her.’ the Evil Queen said.

‘You don’t have to do this.’ Snow said.

‘Yes I do.’ the Evil Queen said.

‘So take it or leave it.’ she said looking at Hope.
