Chapter 27

‘I hope this is okay for you. I’ve decorated this myself when I was pregnant with you. I knew you would be gone until you were eighteen so, well I hope you’ll feel home.’ Snow said placing her hand on Hope’s shoulder.

Hope bit her lip and looked around.

‘It’s okay, thank you.’

Snow gave her a smile.

‘I noticed the bird on your shoulder.’ Snow started.

Hope turned to look at the bird that was still sitting on her left shoulder.

‘What about it?’ Hope asked.

‘They normally-‘ Snow started.

‘Don’t like people, I know and I don’t know why it came to me.’ Hope said.

Snow nodded.

‘It’s just, they don’t like people, like you said, but they always came to me.’ Snow said.

‘Not anymore?’ Hope asked.

Snow smiled.

‘I haven’t been outside since you left.’ Snow said.

Hope bit her lip.

‘They say those birds only come to those who are truly good and always have the best intentions.’ Snow said.

‘How do they know?’ Hope asked.

‘They can feel it, just like we can feel when there is something horrible coming.’ Snow said.

‘I always get a huge stomach-ache, headache and when it’s really bad my body is aching everywhere.’ Hope told Snow.

Snow looked at Hope.

‘I’ve got the same.’ Snow said.

‘Really?’ Hope asked.

‘I always thought I was the only one.’ Hope said.

Snow shook her head.

‘I guess you’ve got that from me.’ Snow said.

Hope nodded lightly.

‘Anyways, I think that bird is getting attached to you.’ Snow said.

Hope smiled.

‘Good company.’ Hope said.

‘You should name her.’ Snow said.

‘Her?’ Hope asked.

‘Yes, her.’ Snow said smiling.

‘I’ll talk to you later, I’ll go and see how Faith likes her room.’ Snow said walking towards the door.

‘Oh and honey, that guy you took with you, Finn, he looks familiar.’ Snow said after turning back around.

 ‘He’s Rapunzel and Flynn, erm- Eugene’s son.’ Hope said.

Snow widened her eyes.

‘He is? How is that possible? He should still be 3.’ Snow said.

How is all of this possible?

‘Faith and I noticed the same, one way or another the time was frozen in this world, but he wasn’t and where he came the time went further.’ Hope told her.

Snow frowned.

‘I’ll look at it later.’ She said softly.

‘Oh and tonight there will be festivities-‘ Hope gave her a weird look ‘a party, for your coming back.’ Snow said with a smile and then walked out of the room.
