I felt kind of nervous calling Bridgit for the first time ever since she gave me her number. But I just really needed her right now. She would understand how I feel right now.
"Hello?" Her sweet voice said threw the phone making my stomach go in knots.
"Hey, it's me Luke." I state scratching the back of my neck. "Are you busy?"
"Um, not really, just visiting my grandad, what's up?" Bridgit replies.
"Oh, I was wondering if you'd go on a walk with me?" I said sounding more like a question. "My heads flooded."
"Um, sure, but isn't it kind of late?" She questioned.
"I know." I nod even though she can't see me.
"Oh, okay, I'll meet you in the lobby." She says as I nod again even if she can't see me.
"Okay, I'll be down in 5." I said and she said okay and I hung up the phone. I just needed to go for a walk and distract my mind, and Bridgit does a good job with it. She's like my getaway. I've been home this past couple of days since I really didn't want to go out much, only to take charlie to her therapist. She's quieter now too. She would always bitch at me and now she's just quiet. It's weird.
I made my way out the door quietly hopefully not to wake up anyone. I really didn't care if they caught me, it's just they'd ask so many questions.
I was out in the hall way waiting for the elevator then I heard yelling from Charlie's apartment. It sounded like Jonah And charlie we're going back and forth. I really couldn't make out any words that they were saying but you can tell it was heated.
After a couple minutes the door swung open startling me a little and charlie quickly made her way out. She didn't even wait for the elevator, she took the stairs, but she was almost running from how quick.
They catched a couple other people's attention from the floor since they allow stepped out to see what's going on.
"Charlie!" Jonah yelled but it was to late, she already disappeared down the stairs. Jonah ran his hands threw his hair punching the wall then going back inside to his apartment and slamming the door not paying attention to the people out in the hall way.
I really wanted to know what happened. Charlie and Jonah barely yelled at each other like that, actually never did. Charlie would ignore him but that's it.
I stepped into the elevator and clicked for the lobby.
I made it downstairs to find Bridgit standing by the doors with a hoodie on and her hands in the pockets. She looked so cute. Just seeing her made me happier. But I also was wondering what happened to charlie. Was she okay? What was she going to do in the middle of the night? So many questions.
I pushed them all to the side once I reached Bridgit giving her a small wave.
"Hey." She smiled as we made our way out the doors. "What's up?" She asked as we made our way down the street. Only the cars lights and street lights lighting up the streets.
"Nothing really." I shrug. "I just wanted to go on a walk with someone that doesn't annoy me."
"Oh." She laughs. "I feel honored."
"You should." I chuckle and so does she. She brings such a positive vibe it makes me happy. But I still had charlie in the back of my head and I don't know why. I guess since she told me the story about her parents i feel worried for her no matter how much I can't stand her.
"What was up with your friend by the way? She walked out, almost running actually." Bridgit says staring down at her feet.
"Oh I don't know honestly." I sigh looking over at her then back down at the rode ahead of us.
