Journal Lessons: Twilight's Kingdom part 2

S4 E26 the grand finale of this season everypony! Not sure how I'm gonna handle writing the next season. And the Starlight Glimmer era is about to begin as well! Let's open the chest!

It was a somber moment in the castle while Malibu continued feeling dread flooding through his veins.

Celestia's face had no signs of her joking. "Tirek is sent on possessing alicorn magic. When he comes for us, we cannot have what he is looking for."

Before Malibu could rebuke this, saying it was suicide, he heard Twilight say; "I'm more than willing to do my part to give up my magic." She said solemnly.

Luna held up her hoof. "You misunderstand. Our magic cannot just disappear into thin air. Somepony must keep it safe."

Cadance held up Twilight's chin. "That somepony is you, Twilight."

Malibu flinched, wondering if he had to give his magic to her now as Celestia gazed at him next. "My dear son, I advise to hide your own magic. Tirek doesn't know you're from another world. And if Discord reveals that to him, both you and your former homeworld could fall into danger."

The teal alicorn's heart fell. "But-but you don't have to sacrifice your magic. I-I won't let that happen!" He snapped, feeling his eyes growing wet, stomping his hoof. Twilight looked ready to cry as well.

"And why me?" She asked. Celestia lowered her gaze. "We do not believe that Tirek is aware that a fifth or even a fourth alicorn princess and prince exist in Equestria. If we transfer our magic to you, Tirek will not know where it has gone."

The ruler of the Crystal Empire gazed at Twilight, concern on her muzzle. "Do you understand what we're asking of you?"

Twilight looked rather doubtful of this. "Yes, it's just... I'm only now learning how to control my own alicorn magic. To take on even more—!"

Cadance smiled encouragingly. "Twilight, you represent the Element of Magic. If there is anypony who can do this, it's you."

Malibu ran into his mom, hugging her tight. "I'll kick Tirek's butt for you should the worst happen." He said shakily, nuzzling Celestia who wing hugged him back, laughing quietly. "I'm sure you will."

He stepped back as Twilight looked confident. "Taking on this task will be one of the most difficult things I'll ever do. But with the help of my friends...!" She declared, but Celestia interrupted.

"I'm sorry, Princess Twilight. Except for Malibu, you must keep your new abilities a secret. I fear that the rest of your friends knowing of your new power can put them at great risk." She warned, Malibu's ears flattening at the thought of not telling the others, but knew now it had to be done. For Rainbow Dash's sake. "Do you still think you can take on this responsibility?" Celestia then asked.

Twilight nodded in determination. "This is the role I am meant to play as a princess of Equestria! I will not fail to do my duty!"

Celestia bowed lightly, Malibu standing out of reach so the magic wouldn't hit him. "Then we must begin at once."

Her horn along with Luna and Cadance's all lit up really brightly, Malibu's eyes widening when watching the magic going out of them, their eyes glowing, as the alicorn magic finally left their horns, forming a giant glowing sphere above Twilight.

She flinched watching it come down, absorbing into her horn, causing her body to light up with it all inside, her mane flowing for a few minutes, Malibu watching in both awe and dread. Twilight was lowered to the ground, rubbing her head before instantly running to hug Celestia. Malibu did the same, seeing her cutie mark was now gone, as well as Luna and Cadance's cutie marks.
