Part 2 of Rainbow Rocks, everypony, sorry about the wait, but we will get more sirens in this chapter!

......

Later in that evening, the party was finally starting, though in reality not many of the students there were really partying. Most of them were just standing about, giving each other glares

Snips kept on glaring hard at Flash Sentry until he grabs a cup with a sigh muttering "I'm gonna get more punch!"

He then accidentally bumped into someone familiar; Twilight. Malibu was there as well, waving at Flash who was startled at the two's appearance.

"Twilight? Malibu?" He asked.

Twilight felt her face growing red again. "Eh, bumped, into, always, doing?"

Malibu felt a smirk on his face. "Real smooth, Twi." He teased, making her elbow him hard.

Flash grinned. "What are you guys doing here? You came back for the big competition, right?"

It made Twilight shrug. "Something like that." Malibu nodded in agreement.

"Huh. Not that there's gonna be any real competition. No one here wants this as bad as my band does." Flash said, almost a little too smug, which made Malibu raise his brow but not say anything.

That was when Twilight felt someone throw a chocolate chip at her, courtesy of Rainbow Dash. She and Malibu turned around, seeing Rainbow tilting her head at the appearance of the Sirens.

Malibu tensed, looking over at the leader of them who had bright curly orange hair and fierce yellow eyes; Adagio Dazzle. She looked like she owned the room along with her other sisters.

Adagio gazed around the room in triumph at her work. "Oh no, no one is mingling! It's like there's some kind of underlying tension that could bubble to the surface at any minute..." She sneered.

Sonata scratched her head while looking at her fruit punch jug. "It's the fruit punch, isn't it? I knew I used too much grape juice!"

Aria smirked at her sister. "But the punch is awful, too." She said too bluntly. Sonata frowned. "What do you know about good fruit punch?"

It made Aria smack her forehead. "More than you." The two began to argue. "Do not!" "Do too!"

Adagio pushed them apart. "This is just the kick off party, girls. Imagine what a tizzy they'll be in by the time the Battle of the Bands starts."

That was when Twilight's voice rang strongly through the air. "There isn't going to be a Battle of the Bands!"

Malibu nodded fiercely, trying to ignore the way Adagio eyed him now like he was prey. "Yeah, we'll make sure of that!" He shouted, standing with his friends, Sunset watching from the side since she wasn't an Element.

Twilight took her friend's hands as they stood in a semi circle. "Alright, everyone, let's do this." Malibu grinned, holding Twilight's hand. "Friendship is magic!" Twilight  shouted, all of them closing their eyes, ready for the magic.

Nothing happened.

Awkward coughs and looks filled the air, Sonata shrugging her shoulders in confusion at Adagio. Malibu's eyes opened, and Rainbow Dash's. "Nothing's... happening..." Malibu muttered, worry in his voice.

"Yeah, weren't there rainbows and lasers and stuff last time?" Dash asked under her breath.

Twilight's eyes lowered, disbelief in her. "I don't understand, we're all together again." Malibu trembled lightly from the thought of their powers not even working, feeling the gaze of the sirens bearing down upon him.
