"It was the best of times. It was the worst of times." Seems Dickens knew something about life on the Upper East Side where the only thing you can count on is that time changes everything. Word has it S gave up politics to focus on issues closer to her heart.
"Nate should be home tomorrow, you don't need to panic clean." Spencer laughed as he watched his sister rush around her penthouse cleaning up all of the clothes and scraps of fabric she had scattered across the furniture in the small time Nate had been away with his grandfather. "I don't want him walking into an absolute bomb." Ophelia stressed, throwing her unfinished designs over her shoulder as if they were nothing. "And no, I will not hire somebody to clean this up before you ask. If I can't do something as simple as look after a home, then what kind of girlfriend am I?".
"One without a ring on your finger. What did you used to always preach to me, 'don't do wife duties on a girlfriend's salary'?". Ophelia sent her brother a glare, knowing he was correct but not wanting to outwardly admit it. "Isn't Serena coming home today? Why don't you go and bother her?". The heiress dismissed, watching as her brother remained comfortable on the armchair he had claimed as his own. "Fine. But remember what I said, well, what you said."
Waving toward his sister Spencer's eyes barely left his phone, busy texting the van der Woodsen for an update on her travels as he finally left Ophelia to her own devices. The heiress let out a heavy sigh of relief before collapsing on top of the one empty lounge in the penthouse, her arms full of fabric. "When will I learn to just clean up after myself?". Ophelia cursed, frustrated with her past self for becoming so warped with ideas and designs she forgot to clean up as she went. "You wouldn't be the woman I fell in love with then."
The sound of Nate's voice made Ophelia sit upright, squealing with excitement as she threw the fabric onto the floor and rushed into her boyfriend's arms. "You're home! I thought you were due in tomorrow." The heiress wondered, placing a rushed kiss onto her boyfriend's lips before smelting into Nate's warm body. "Grandfather got sick of me texting you constantly so he sent me home early." "Remind me to thank your grandfather later." The heiress expressed before kissing Nate deeply once more.
Nate's hands moved to the back of Ophelia's thighs, lifting her up and carrying her towards the nearby sofa without breaking their lips apart. The pair had been separated for a short period of time and yet they acted as though they hadn't seen the other in months. Pulling at Nate's red shirt Ophelia chucked it over the lounge without a care in the world, desperate to see her boyfriend's bare chest. "I've missed you so much." The heiress whispered, taking a moment to breathe as Nate kissed down her neck. "I promise to never leave you for that long again." Nate admitted, shedding the clothes from the heiress' body before fully sinking into her, proving just how much, he'd missed her.
With enough time, we all find what we're looking for. Even if it was there all along. And when time slows and suddenly every moment counts all you want is for this time to last forever.
