They say waking up is hard to do especially when you're not alone. They say life is full of surprises. That our dreams really can come true. Then again, so can our nightmares. Welcome home, Jenny Humphrey. We've missed you.
"Nate, how's your dad?". Ophelia wondered through the call, her feet firmly on the ottoman in front of her work chair. "Yeah, that's what I'm calling about actually." Nate admitted nervously. "Nat, is your dad okay?". "He's fine, I just ran into someone unexpected outside the jail." "Who would we know waiting to go into a jail?". "How about Juliet?".
The news made Ophelia drop the pen she held in her hand, her feet swinging onto the ground as she leant forward in shock.
"Juliet, as in sneaky, conniving, my brother's girlfriend Juliet?" "That's the one. She wanted to try and talk to me, but I told her to just call Spencer first." "That explains why he's not at work." Ophelia observed, noticing her brother's desk remained untouched. "I've gotta get going if I want to see my dad during this session." "Of course, Nat. I love you, say hi to the Captain for me." "I love you, Lia."
Hanging up the phone Ophelia let out a sigh of shock, trying to wrap her mind around who Juliet would know in the jail and how she'd managed to keep it hidden from Spencer and the rest of the Upper East Side for so long. Falling back into work the heiress did her best to keep her theories at bay but they were quickly distracted when she found out Jenny Humphrey had returned to town, much to the disapproval of Blair Waldorf.
"Can you believe her? She just thinks everything is all brushed under the bridge, like she didn't destroy my entire life!". Blair yelled, throwing herself down on the sofa of Ophelia's office. "Parsons is a dream school for designers." The heiress explained but her cousin wasn't listening. "Chuck has to have something to do with this. I know it. He's bloody homicidal." Blair exclaimed, letting the war her ex declared get to her head. "You had to have expected this outcome B, he loved Eva and you convinced him to drive her out of town."
"Sure I expected a small retaliation but Jenny Humphrey? She's off limits and he knows that." Blair huffed, frustrated at the Bass boy and how ruthless he'd become. "Maybe her arrival has nothing to do with Chuck, just let her go to this interview and then she'll leave." "I cannot have Gossip Girl or any of my minions find out why she's banished, the longer she's here the longer mine and Chuck's social standings are at risk." Blair counteracted before her phone pinged with the familiar Gossip Girl blast chime.
Spotted: B's disciples hot on Little J's tail. Watch out J, break a deal with the devil and there will be hell to pay.
Blair had dragged Ophelia along with her to Tim Gunn's office, much to the heiress' disapproval. "Blair, I don't know what you plan on doing but Jenny is already in there." Dan interrupted the cousins as they rounded the corner to the office. "Oh, we came for the afterparty." Blair responded with a smile, excited to see the effects of her minion's handiwork firsthand. Before Ophelia could comment at all Jenny came walking out of the office with tears in her eyes, defeated and broken once more.
