Chapter Thirty-Four
“Make her cry and he’ll come running,” Alice sang to her stuffed rabbit Mimi. She had grown a bit impatient so she had stepped through a portal to visit Mr. Flannel in his “safe” room, which was concealed behind a mirror and led deep underground where he was preparing for his next guest to come and stay.
“That’s what I had in mind, and then to catch him in one of your magic circles... and have him watch her become torn apart,” he laughed.
Alice set her doll down on the chair in the center of the room. It was bolted securely to the floor and had cuffs on the legs and armrests to secure the “guest”--otherwise known as the victim or toy--to the chair so he--in this case a she, but it was usually a she anyway--would be unable to escape.
Her heels clicked in the large room as she walked around it, sticking close to the walls and admiring the instruments hanging from the ceiling, resting on shelves or hanging off of hooks on the walls.
It resembled a tool shed of sorts, but not the kind one would work in to make a table or chair, no, this was specially designed to inflict pain.
Its target was not directly the person who sat in the chair, but another person. The one in the chair was only a “weak link in the chain of my plans” as Alice put it. She wanted to destroy those and replace them with new ones that would not go against her.
“I can’t wait to see Areli’s and Jakko’s expressions when they see her here-“ Alice sang happily, spinning around on her heels.
“Yes, Alice, won’t it be interesting to watch?” Mr. Flannel asked, a crooked smile creeping across his face. He pushed his hair back, which was not oiled as it usually was. He had not had the time to do so and was too busy with preparations.
“Yes, yes, indeed!” Alice clapped.
“But how long do you think it will take to finish getting ready?” she asked, running over to the chair and grabbing her rabbit so she could sit down.
“I’d say around another day or so, but you’ll be the first to know when that happens Alice.”
“Well, I would hope so Mr. Flannel!” she exclaimed.
“Oh, you will be Alice, I assure you of that... now, any further suggestions or would you like some tea Milady?”
“Tea! Tea and cookies, milk and sugar and lot of tasty treats! And a side of blood, agony and a scared face!”
“Why I think I can organize that,” Mr. Flannel smirked, rubbing his grubby hands together. “Shall we watch an old tape we have?”
“Yeah!” Alice smiled. “Which one?”
“Oh, your favorite one Alice,” Mr. Flannel said. “Do you remember Lain?”
“Why of course I do! Her face made me shiver and feel all warm and excited,” she crooned, hugging herself and smiling as she remembered the screaming.
“I wanna watch! I wanna watch!”
