SALT, TEQUILA AND LIME
My idea of a typical weekend would be spending the rest of the days curling up in a big ball of heavy, thick and comfy pink sheets.
I have this long long list of classic heart breaking movies. Movies that will tug at your heartstrings. Movies that will make you believe about how it is so achingly good to love and be loved. To have to experience all the pain and the heartache that comes along with it. About how it's just so lovely... so lovely to be in love.
It's somewhat like a movie bucket list. A collection of movies I want to watch before I die. Or that sort of thing.
I call it Saab's Bucket Flicks.
"Pretty please Saab."
I sighed. And looked around.
Different groups of teenagers huddled together. Drinking, eating, laughing and what nots.
On the other side of what seemed to be the VIP lounge, the one exclusive for the members and close friends of the Black Wolves is a keg party.
May nakapwesto pa sa gitna nila na isang malaking barrel ng beer at isang mahabang hose. They're all cheering loudly to three members of the Black Wolves na nagpapaunahang makaubos ng beer. Bahagya akong napangiwi dahil halos masuka na yung isang member na kasali. He looked a bit tiny. Must have been a sophomore.
It was actually kind of amusing to see and experience parties first-hand. I found myself almost gaping at every scene or every corner. My eyes even lingered longer than necessary. Ganito pala ang pakiramdam. Shame, I've only seen them in movies, imagined what it was like, or even read in books. Entertaining yes. But not enough to make me go to parties often or to even change my weekend routine of watching movies. It was a nice change to the monotonous binge watching of chick flicks. But still I wouldn't change it for the world.
I glanced at my wristwatch for the nth time. Nine p.m.
I don't want to be late for my date tonight with Gerry from the movie P.S. I love you.
"Your partying experience wouldn't be complete without this!" Jen shouted a little over the loud roaring of the music. She shoved me a shot of tequila filled to the brim. And pointed at the slice of lime and the salt shaker placed atop the metallic circular table.
Napalunok ako. It smelled weird.
I haven't even tasted the mildest types of alcoholic drinks and here I am already with tequila on hand. I feel so bad ass right now like I'm doing something that breaks the law or whatever. Well, thinking about it now I'm still a minor so that's totally breaking the law of no alcoholic drinks to minors. I wonder how they were able to pull off a party like this anyway.
I have watched and read too much of the dangers of beer pressure for teens. I feel so paranoid right at this very moment whilst looking at the beautiful smiling faces of my three friends who are too eager for me to have a taste of that tequila.
"Come on Saab. Make me proud. I want you to be one of us. Don't worry, kaming bahala sayo. We're friends right?" Jen said with such sweet authority. She winked at Abi and Trix. They all giggled.
