"Sorry Newt, your running career is officially over." Jeff shook his head, examining Newt's ankle.
"Yeah, I thought so." Newt muttered.
"I'm sorry Newt." I rubbed his shoulder attempting to comfort him.
"It's okay, I never liked being a runner much anyway. It brings back too many bloody memories. I wish the shuck creators would erase things like that."
"I know." I sighed.
Jeff sent us out with some ice and we walked to my room.
"Hey Newt?" I started, shutting my door and sitting by Newt on my bed.
"Hm?"
"I-I um, I don't want to sound like a cliché fairy tail character that jumped out of a wonderland book, but I'm pretty sure we're supposed to be together."
"Why do you say that?"
"Well, uh, when we kissed, did you see all that too?"
Newt's widening eyes met mine.
"I did. I thought I was imagining that or something."
"I thought the same, but do you remember when Ben said I wasn't his?"
"Yeah."
"Maybe it's because I'm yours, he probably saw us together before the maze."
"You're right. What's this supposed to bloody mean?"
"I don't know. Do you think we should tell anyone?"
"I don't know."
