Ch 23

But Lyn didn't wake as quickly as Alan had said, three days past wile Lucas sat, by her bed side and wondered the corridors.

Alan had told Lucas, to get some sleep, he had been used to Lyn not reacting so well to the sedatives and even though the others worried he knew, it would take nothing more then time.

Alan pushed the chair Lucas brought in from the kitchen back from the bed and stood, it had never taken this long before, but he feared little for Lyn, it was the baby that concerned him, just as it did everyone else, especially Lucas.

But as he turned to leave.

"Alan, don't go"

Alan spun to see Lyn's dark eye's, once again full of life and shining bright looking up at him from her pillow.

"Oh Lyn, thank God" he sat again pulling the chair in closer, then before and taking a tight hold of Lyn's hand "Its been three day's sweetheart, even I thought we might loose you, you were really sick yesterday"

"I'm fine now, and my chest doesn't hurt any more" Lyn sat up quickly, she knew by now it wouldn't hurt, but Alan shot forward to help her, she put up her hands to stop him "I'm okay now, but I have been thinking, for some time, and now I'm sure, there's things missing, that I didn't notice were missing at first" Lyn looked slightly confused, wile she tried hard to sort out, what was go ing on inside her then she looked around the room "Wheres Lucas?"

"Oh I sent him to get some sleep, he's been in here almost the whole time, he needs some rest"

"Well I'll go lay with him then" Lyn threw her legs over the bed, grabbed a pair of jeans she had left days beforehand hanging over the end of the bed post and pulled them on.

Alan didn't know what to do for the best, she seemed perfectly fine, yet he knew she still needed more time to recover fully, no one would have guessed only three days ago, she was on the verge of death. Henry would be ecstatic if he knew.

"Lyn, you really should lay back down, at least until I get Tom to give you a good look over, I'd.."

"Well he can if you like, and I will lay right back down, just next door, that's all, I have something to do" Lyn then left, leaving Alan sat alone until moments later she poked her head back through the door "Talking about having something to do, isn't there a young man across the hall, who would love and deserves your attention, much more then me"

"And what does that mean?"

"Tom, you stupid man, he's already like totally in love with you" she smiled with a wink a disappeared again.

Lyn walked into the room Lucas hardly slept in but, as it was the closet to hers, it would be where he was now. He had spent to much time at her side, to need his own room. She had once told him that but as they weren't really together, once she was strong enough, he insisted on at least to call another room but hers, his. Since London, he hadn't been in there at all.

Lucas was asleep, laid on his back, clearly even to tired to get undressed and climb under the covers. Lyn lay down next to him, her rib hurt more, then she wanted to let on, and though at first she had not felt more then a slight twinge, now it had begun to steadily throb, but if she told the truth, Alan really would have said no, about her coming into Lucas.

Lyn slowly rolled to her front, wincing with the pain that shot through the left side of her chest and once she finally got into the position she wanted, the pain had grown steadily worse, but she held it in.
