Ch13

Lyn had sat far to long going over plans and though she understood the working of every bomb ever made that had been recorded in anyway she no longer cared. Lyn didn't have to build it, Ash did. And she still couldn't work out how to make it do exactly what they needed as it wasn't going to simply blow 'The Rose Building' that would be easy enough. But How to blow all corporations, but Australia she just hadn't worked out yet. She knew it had to be some sort of computer virus out to make one able to get inside the computers without being detected and then set off all the self destruct was causing her problems, again a result of not running as she should be.

Lyn had spent three more days with Ash's Laptop, this time converting it so it would run almost as fast as her, he had kept complaining that since her little download weeks earlier it had started to run slower then he thought possible for the days technology. Now at least if she plugged herself in she was confident on not blowing it up.

Now instead of her continuous bomb searching Lyn began to go through the corporations networks, she wanted answers and her own memory gave her nothing, but foggy dreams and blank spaces in her life. Lyn only hoped the information that either one or both networks had, there was something that gave her some in-site to her life or she could get hold of clues to passwords so she could access files inside her she had been unable to enter.

"Lyn, Lyn, Lyn you okay?" Lucas's voice came through the hazy memories and things lost now whispering to be found.

"LYN" Lucas pulled Lyn's head gently to face him as he sat down next to her "Whats wrong?"

Lyn could see the worry on his face, so she smiled to help settle him and she was more then happy that for once it wasn't forced. She had found something.

"Look" Lyn pushed the Laptop so Lucas could see "I found something, not much help with bombs, but I think it will help us"

"How do you mean?"Lucas didn't know weather to be worried or grateful.

"Look" Lyn watched as Lucas looked over the file she had just opened with the password she had just cracked, but instead of the understanding she had gained Lucas simply looked confused.

"Lyn I...I don't-"

"Understand" Lyn's smile dropped slightly "Its okay, its just about how Henry chose who would become like me"

"Will you explain?" it was rare even now that Lyn would speak to him for to long and though he knew she wanted time with him, she just seemed not to know what to say anymore, as if some how there was so much in her head, but the gaps were to grate or she simply feared his questions and being unable to answer them.

Lucas so badly wanted the time back when she would speak to him but he didn't want to push it so if she'd tell him that would be wonderful they would finally be getting that bit closer again and if not then at least he had longer with her then he had had in days.

"Yes I will" her original smile returned as if she understood that what it said meant as much to him as it did to her "It says that they chose woman form all over Britain, pregnant women that is, who were all due with in the moth of April"

"The month you were born?"

"Yes. How and who has been erased once the babies were born, just an empty file is left. Once the babies were born someone impersonating a student doctor would go and check them over making sure they were healthy and would meet Henry's requirements, but it doesn't say what those were.

If all was well they were implanted with some sort of device, it was designed to make sure we wouldn't leave Britain, but there are no designs for it so I can't understand how it worked"
