Ch 41

Lyn proudly walked into the kitchen, she knew Alan would be there, after the night she had caused Lyn knew he would not have been back to bed.

Lyn stopped next to him and pulled herself up onto the kitchen unit and watched him making what she knew was one in a long string of mugs of coffee. The smell made her happy it was one of the few thing from her time with Henry that she loved, because the worm rich small of fresh coffee in the morning filled her room as Alan came to wake her for the day.

"Good morning" Lyn smiled as he looked up, he was clearly tried, but not as desperately so as she had seen him many time under the employment of Henry, so she knew he would begrudge her happiness, or what she wanted to speak with him about.

"Feeling better then you did earlier sweetheart?"

"Yes thank you, and sorry for any trouble I caused, I couldn't sleep again after though so I want to talk about what kept me up, but first I have something to tell you"

"So he finally asked you then?"

Lyn simply smiled at Alan's comment, she was more then happy that he had already guessed, it meant that the things he had given her hadn't been to reminded her of what she already had because he was not to happy that he had spent so many years worth of work making sure Lucas fell into her lap. Lyn knew Christmas had been almost two moths ago, but after the box problem, Lucas had asked Lyn to keep it between them until they were both sure it wasn't some way of trying to make her want her past more then her future, then once the dreams had started they both felt there were things that needed sorting out in her head before they went ahead and told everyone, because once they didn't want to wait, and now the Bomb was almost complete they wanted to be married before they had to part and she had to leave, and destroy Henry, along with the other corporations. But now things were different, after Lucas had talked with Alan last night his mood on the subject had changed and when he told her what they spoke about, at least the parts she needed to hear anyway she calmed about the whole subject of the box and agreed to finally telling the others and getting on with their marriage. Of course that left room in her head for other worries to enter, and even though they weren't strictly hers she couldn't help but getting involved in the lives of the people she loved.

"Yes, see" she held out her hand palm down so that Alan could see the ring that Lucas said she could finally put back on after he had taken it back not long after placing it on her finger, with the assurance she would get it back as soon as the box dilemma was sorted "It was Tom's, but he said Lucas would have better use of it, and he does"

Alan took her hand to examine the ring "Its beautiful, and very generous of Tom, he really loves you"

"I know, and I'll say thank you, you will marry us right, You are the man with the papers and more importantly, your are my father"

Alan Looked up from the ring opened his mouth then closed it again and merely nodded as a tear fell from his eye, it was hard for Lyn to understand how much he loved her until then and though she had always see him as her father and therefor loved him as such she too didn't realise just how much. She truly was his daughter. She pulled him close "Thank you, I do love you"

Alan pulled back and held Lyn's face in his hand "you are my angle, and it would be an honor to marry the both of you" he then kissed her on the noise before wiping away his tears and returning to his coffee.

"So today then, sitting room, give me an hour, yes"

"if that's what makes you both happy, then yes, today it is then, though it is a bit quick"
