Zayra woke up early. She heard Joshua blasting his music, she assumed he was happy to have his father back. She felt her heart pull at that. She couldn't ever remember a time she was happy to see her father back.

She knocked on the restroom door, making sure he wasn't inside. She had caught him twice already, always forgetting to lock her side of the door to the restroom. She never saw him naked, just in the process of removing his clothes before showering.

He had looked embarrassed all day. She had to tell him a thousand times that she hadn't seen anything and just to remember to lock the door. She had teased him a little, watching him squirm. But not today, she didn't plan on seeing him in that way anywhere in the near future.

He was over all a pretty happy kid, yet she felt at times some type of sadness within him. Zayra thought it was this factor that made her like him more. They were about the same age, soon he would be 17. Zayra felt and acted much older than 16. She understood that boys took longer to mature, however it wasn't just maturity, it was also experience he lacked.

He was brought up with two parents who sincerely looked as though they loved him. His upbringing had been upper middle class until his father had become successful in the industry. His mother was a very good lawyer who also worked in the music industry.

He had everything lined up for him, schools, cars, future. He had it all, yet it seemed as though none of it mattered to him. Something was off about him, nothing bad just off.

Zayra believed it was the pressure to be great. He had two parents that had succeeded in their work. A famous grandfather who had won Olympic gold. She saw him try to be what they expected from him to be but not exactly quite succeeding in it. As if he wasn't ready to commit to it just yet.

She finished showering and quickly dressed in jeans a tank top and converse. She'd grab a sweater on her way out. It was starting to get cold. She walked down the stairs and heard the conversation flowing from the kitchen.

She saw them all sitting on the kitchen island eating breakfast. Emily moved around the kitchen, making pancakes. She smiled warmly at her. Zayra stood hesitantly by the door, unsure if she should intrude their family moment.

"Zayra!" Joshua exclaimed seeing her. "This is my dad." his grin large.

She nodded.

"Good Morning Zayra." he said smiling at her.

She gave him a tight smile.

Jeremy had woke up Emily excited about Zayra's talent. She was half asleep when he told her about the song for the soundtrack. He asked if she'd like to go to the studio, which she declined.

She was surprised that Zayra also knew how to play the piano. He was talking her ear off animated about having a real undiscovered talent in his house. She had to explain to him that she had recently lost her family and was probably not in the mood for what he had in mind.

"Would you like some breakfast?" Emily asked.

"Sure."

She sat in a nearby chair, apart from the family group.

"Hey sit over here." Joshua said, pulled the chair to sit next to him.

She shook her head. He made a face at her. He was beginning to figure her out. He noticed that she didn't like affection such as hugs and she always stood or sat a distance away from people. He shrugged and continued to eat his breakfast.

"After you're done, grab your stuff because we're heading to the studio Joshua." he looked at Zayra. "You're still coming right?"

"Yeah if that's okay." she was curious about going to an actual music studio where the magic happened. The last time she could remember ever being inside a music studio was many years ago before her grandfather had died. She must have been about four or five at the time.
