Roman was anxiously waiting for Zayra to return with Daniella from shopping. He went straight to his Godfather's house first wanting to see Zayra only to be told she wasn't there. He walked around the house, waiting.

His godfather took pity on him and had him help with some yard work. They were going to decorate the outside, they invited a few more guests this Xmas and wanted everyone to be comfortable in and out of the house.

He saw Rudy, moving chairs and tables around. Xmas Eve was tomorrow but some of his family began to arrive to stay the night. He saw Martha smile at him and kiss her father's cheek. They talked for a while about Zayra and her progress. She was happy that she was doing better. She went inside to find her mother.

Roman heard giggles and his heart stopped. He loved hearing Zayra laughing. He had to remember to give Daniella an amazing gift for Xmas, just for making Zayra laugh. He waited for her to come to the back. He watched Daniella smile and wave at him and say hello to her uncle.

He watched Zayra's surprised eyes, her mouth slightly open as she gasped. She had expected him home tomorrow. He walked toward her, his heart pounding. She looked down embarrased suddenly.

"Hi Zayra." he moved her hair to the back, his hand moving down her arm and curling to her waist. He pulled her to him slowly, looking at her bright eyes and flushed cheeks.

"Hi Roman. I didn't know you were here."

"I wanted to surprise you."

"You did."

He leaned in to kiss her softly, feeling her heart shaped lips on his. He felt his skin start to burn where her hands landed.

He heard his Nino clear his throat and Daniella giggle.

He pulled away from the kiss but kept his hand around her waist. "I'm going to finish up here, I'll see you in a bit." he said to her.

She couldn't speak, she was embarrassed so she nodded.

She turned to smile weakly at Don Xavier and saw Daniella wink at her. She headed inside to put her bags away. Daniella followed closely.

"Zayra, I swear I could here the electricity crackling with you two."

"Stop it."

"I'm serious, you know, he's been looking at you like that for so long, I'm surprised you never caught on."

"Roman has never looked at me like that?" she shook her head, opening her room door.

"Yes! We all saw it, it's just nice to see you both with that look now."

"It's funny for me to hear you say that. I mean, seriously we were always at each other's throats. I sometimes hated him." she smiled at that. "Hate such a strong word. I didn't like him much, he was always around looki-" she cut her sentence short looking at Dani nod, saying I told you.

She blushed, "I guess I just never believed that he liked me that way."

"Well he does. I wish Nico liked me the same way." she sighed.

"Awe Dani, trust me he likes you very much." she looked at her, she looked a bit sad. That was out of character for her.

"Hey, what's going on with you two? I thought you guys were good."

She shrugged and plopped herself on the bed. "I don't know, I haven't talked to him in almost a week, we keep missing each other's calls." she sighed in frustration.

"Oh yeah, that's annoying." she thought about Roman and her. Zayra moved around putting her things away.

Dani looked up at her. "Is it hard for you too, or does it get easier?"
