Zayra bounced from one place to another, she felt her bones weary but her soul wouldn't relent. Ryan went to a few of the practices so that they can get everything moving for the concert.
The next time she would be in New York would be a week before the concert. After practice she would go with Ryan, Thomas, sometimes Mr. Ross and Mr. Christensen out to eat.
She would also meet up with Angie and Diego and the Josh and Damon, Daniella and Nico, Jeremy and Emily and Miguel, Carol and Jessica, bouncing from one end to the other.
Today Zayra was practicing with Angie for the Gala's performance that would take place tomorrow. After that her party was scheduled for the following weekend and then her album would be out available for the public.
She was excited and nervous at the same time. She had worked hard on her craft but like everyone else she doubted her work.
She was finishing up rehearsal when Angie asked her to go shopping. She didn't have any more appointments so decided on a girls day with her bestie.
They walked the streets and talked about everything. Angie asked her about Roman and she was sad to tell her they hadn't talked in over three weeks.
"It's fine, I know he's out there doing his thing as I am doing mine. His term is almost over. He needs a couple more months so.....this is nothing."
"Well I'm glad everything is working out with you two. I really like Roman."
Zayra smiled. "So do I."
They headed to a pizza parlor and ordered a couple of slices each. They were huge! Now this was Pizza, mussed Zayra.
She suddenly stopped eating as she recognized a figure walking toward her. Her breath caught in her throat.
"What is it Zayra?" Angie saw her face.
"It's my uncle Moises." he walked to her table and smiled politely at Angie.
"Zayra, I didn't know you were here in New York."
"No, I didn't know you were here in New York either."
"I have a business here, I come down monthly. What brings you here?"
"They're having me a release party for my album."
"Oh." he nodded. "Zayra, I've been calling you."
"Yeah I know."
"I was hoping we can meet up and now that I know you're here, how about we meet up for Dinner or Lunch or..." he shrugged.
"I don't know, I'm kind of busy you know."
"You could squeeze me in."
"I could I'm just not sure I want to." she felt Angie kick her shin.
"I don't want to put pressure on you Zayra. Where are you heading after New York?"
"Peru. Then Mexico."
"Really Mexico?"
"Yes, I'm going to see my mother's label company." her finger circled her the rim of her drink.
He nodded. "Well I'll be heading to Mexico in a few weeks, maybe we could meet there? I'd like to show you your grandparents home."
"Are you talking about your parents?" she moved her long hair to her back.
"Yes, you are my family Zayra, I'd like for you to know that side too." His eyes sad.
"Why?" she frowned.
