Emily waited almost 30 minutes longer than planned. She had called everyone's cell phone trying to contact them. Well suffice to say, all three sat chatting away about today's events. Jeremy was excited, she hadn't seen him this worked up since one of his songs had hit platinum. They hungrily ate the appetizers that were set on the table.

She heard them talk about the song choices and how he would finish later on that day with what Zayra had done. He was still short two songs but now he wasn't worried. He was running on adrenaline. Zayra had brought the fire back to him.

"Emily, I've hired Zayra. I've already requested copyright permission for the two tracks that I had her record for me and I need you to draft something up for her. Also, I'm trying to get her to work with me. Sort of as a paid intern, it would obviously revolve around her schedule of course. I see us working weekends mostly." He talked fast, unable to contain his excitement.

He looked at Zayra and Emily, they sat side by side.

"Whoa! Hold up. As her guardian we are allowed to give her permission to work, as long as it is less than 20 hours a week. As a lawyer, I'd advise her to look at the contract before signing. I can whip something up for you, if you'd like for my father or someone else to review it and advise you before signing I'd advise on that too. Jeremy, you already had her record two tracks? what if you don't get the permission?"

"I'd go and talk to them personally and if even that was not a possibility given the time frame I'm in, then I'd have to go with plan B and add other songs." he sighed. "I hate doing things half ass and putting my name on it. This movie is supposed to be big, I know that as soon as they find out who sang the two cover songs they'd start probing and find out it is you Zayra." he looked at her at this. "So you're going to have to prepare yourself for all the media attention." he looked at her apologetic.

Zayra groaned at this.

Yes he wanted to turn in one of the best soundtracks but having her on it will begin to revive the story about her family and for this he was upset. Yet he couldn't hide her from the world. He didn't want to hide her from the world.

He was most excited about discovering talent, something she had. The fact that she wanted to be a producer as well made it easier for him. He would be able to work side by side with her, teach her things and he would also seek her talents when needed. He had a good feeling about her.

"Zayra, you don't have to do this you know? Don't think that its mandatory. I know you are a bit shy when it comes to people and right now is not the best of times for you but I know Jeremy, I believe in him.

He  has a good eye and ear and if he thinks you're good I believe it too. I've seen what you've done with Joshua in this short span. You can see if you like working with him and if you don't then you can always quit."

"I'll think about it. I'm serious about the singing part. I don't mind it but not as a career. I don't even think I'd be able to perform the songs live." she shrugged.

"And that's fine. We can write that on your contract. We can even make it a temporary contract. Let's say 6 months and if you enjoy it or want to extend it you can."

"What if I want to quit before the 6 months are up?"

"Then you quit. I'll make the contract simple."

"Okay, I'll think about it. Show me the contract first."

"I will."

Jeremy blew out his breath, a bit relieved. He was happy that Emily had backed him up. He felt a pang of guilt. He wasn't backing her up with his affairs he thought. He looked at his little family and knew he had decided on what to do. With Zayra, he wouldn't even have time to look at other girls. He had to smile again, glad that she was staying with them.
