****NOT EDITED****

Zayra felt their nerves she saw Angie shaking with excitement and fear. Her teeth rattled and her body shook as if she was cold. They began to set up their instruments on the designated area. The place was beautifully decorated.

All the guest wore black. They had made the backyard look like a beautifully lit garden. Lights streamed under the trees and canopy's they were strategically placed around the stage and room. White and linen covered the tables.

They weren't sure if the rain would come so they decided to cover part of the yard up with large canopies. What money can buy, thought Zayra. She looked at the centerpieces. This kid was turning 18 and had a full catering service, alcohol to last a month, live music , everything to make the party one for the books.

Zayra wasn't nervous. She was just excited. She looked at Nico, he helped bring the Korg SV-1 vintage piano that she bought online. It had almost the same sound as a classical piano but was good enough for gigs.

She saw Ryan greet the birthday boy. They began to talk about when to start and other details. He turned and smiled at Zayra. He looked her over. They all wore black as he requested. His eyes lingered a little longer than necessary.

He knew who she was, the whole school knew her. He was excited to have her there. He seen the video that Angie had posted and decided to book them for his birthday. He also had heard her song on the radio it had been part of a movie soundtrack. She was somewhat of a celebrity. He wanted to have her there just to show off.

"Happy Birthday Joe." she said to him.

"Thanks, I'm glad you came out too." he nodded at her.

"Yeah. This is my friend Nico." she introduced each other. They talked for a few minutes.

"So I guess, you can start at seven is that cool?"

"Yeah, you tell us when." Ryan said to him. They had a little over 30 minutes. Zayra saw the speakers and lights. D.J. Wreck was putting his equipment up. Joe called him over and introduced everyone. Nico automatically began talking to him about his music. He was a fan. D.J. Wreck was humble, smiling at his praise. He wished them luck.

Zayra saw everyone start to pile on the dance floor, excited to hear the music start. She recognized many of the kids from school. They began chanting their name.

Some began to scream for Zayra. She had to laugh. It was pretty funny. She turned around to look at the group. She knew they were destined for greatness. She felt it. This was the beginning for them.

"Are you guys ready?" she asked softly.

She saw Angie bite her lip in a nervous gesture. Josh pushed his hair back from his face and Ryan's eyes showed his anxiety.

"You'll be great, just do it how we practiced." she turned to Nico, she didn't have to worry about him, he's been doing this for a few years now. Sure most of it was underground but it was live helping build up his confidence.

She felt confident.

Joe returned with drinks for them. "Here you go, it'll help sooth your nerves." he passed the drinks to everyone. She saw Nico open her beer and handed it to her. Angie gulped hers thirstily. Josh took a sip, he wasn't much of a drinker. Ryan took a long drink but put it down. He was too excited.

"Cheers." Zayra said to the group. Nico clanked his drink to hers.

"Let's fucking do this Zayra." he was excited to see them in action. Zayra had made sure he rapped in a few of the songs. He had showed up almost everyday for practice.
