****NOT EDITED****

Zayra woke up early and sneaked out of the house to retrieve Roman's gift. She knew that he'd look through the bags that she brought because he was a bit nosy. She had asked Mario to put it somewhere where he wouldn't look. He had smiled at her and winked. It was neatly wrapped and had a green bow.

She went downstairs and heard the staff energized for today's events. She heard Don Xavier on the phone, Mimi's mother Sandra yelling at the staff to hurry up, soon everyone will rise for breakfast. It was only 5 in the morning, the moon was still out and the sun was starting to rise. She went toward the back where Mario let her know he hid it.

She still had her PJ's on and bare feet, it was cold outside and she quickly ran to the stables. She smiled at the stableman Jorge who was getting things ready. He smiled at her warmly, knowing what she was there for.

She walked to her horse and touched its nose. She missed ridding it. She went inside and found the box. She grabbed it and was heading out the stall when she heard her name being called. Zayra bit her lip, Roman sounded a bit worried.

"She's in here." she heard Jorge say in Spanish.

She heard his footsteps getting closer, Zayra thought about hiding, she didn't want him to see his gift yet knew if she hid, he'd start to get worried. She thought about hiding the gift back inside the stall when she saw him enter the stable.

Her mouth open, he was bare chested and no shoes. His hair was sticking out everywhere, his eyes dark with concern. He saw her stroking her horse and automatically thought she was leaving. He walked hesitantly toward her, nervous suddenly.

Zayra heard her horse whinny, shaking it's head up and down as if sensing his emotions, or was it Zayra's.

"Zayra?" his eyes searching hers. "What are you doing?"

She looked at her hand that was behind the stall, gift in hand. "Nothing, I was thinking about taking a ride."

He looked at her clothes and knew she was lying.

"Liar."

He walked closer to her.

"No Roman, go back in, I need to do something." he didn't listen, he kept walking toward her. He positioned himself in front of her, his eyes concerned.

"What do you need to do with your horse?"

He reached for her but she backed away a step. He hissed, thinking she was pulling from him. His eyes went into slits. His nose flaring.

"Roman, please. Trust me I'm not running. I'm hiding-"

"What are you hiding." his voice a bit angry.

She sighed, lowered her head resigned. She might as well show him. She raised her hand up so that he could see what she had. His eyes narrowed and then he smiled, small at first and then larger as he realized what she was doing.

He pulled her to him fast and kissed her deeply. After he had his fill he released her.

"I thought you were leaving, I woke up and didn't see you, I....got nervous."

She nodded. "I know. I'm not running Roman. I wanted to give you this tonight but....you're sometimes impossible."

"I warned you." he said huskily.

She smiled. "Well, here, I might as well give it to you now."

"Zayra, you didn't need to buy me anything."

"I know but I wanted to."

He looked at the box and the wrapping, wondered what it was. "Can I open it now?"
