Gerard did fine the rest of that day. We watched movies until we fell asleep, and he didn't drink a single drop of alcohol. Just lots of coffee.

Today when I woke up, he was already downstairs. I was worried that he might be drinking, so I rushed downstairs, but he was just sitting on the couch reading something.

"Mornin', Gerard," I said. He looked up at me and smiled.

"Good morning, cutie," he said, and I felt my cheeks heat up. Why does he make me blush so much? Ugh. Damn teenage hormones. "Wanna come to a wedding with me next weekend?"

"Who's getting married?" I asked. He handed me the thing he was reading when I came downstairs, which I now figured to be a wedding invitation. It was from Chantal and Mr. Euringer. It was made out to "Gerard Way +1"

"I didn't know you two were friends," I observed.

"Yeah. Her and Ray have been my friends since high school. You don't have to come to the wedding if you don't want. I just thought it would be kind of cool. Mikey, Kristin and Ray will probably be there too. Plus, I finally get to bring a plus-one to one of these things, so that's cool. I've never been invited with a plus-one. I feel so grown up."

I giggled. "So grown up, huh?" I asked playfully. I had never heard a twenty-six year old say they feel grown up. It was adorable. "Won't there be other teachers there? They'll know we're dating."

He blushed and showed a small smile. "We're dating?"

I mentally smacked myself. That was terrible word choice.

"I, um... I don't know."

He nodded in understanding. "Well, you're eighteen, so it's legal, and I don't really give a fuck if they look down on me for bringing a younger woman."

"S-sure then. I'll go."

He tried to keep his cool and hide the big smile that was threatening to break out on his face. "Cool," he said, still attempting to act less excited than he was. I smiled slightly at his actions. He's a dork.

"I'm gonna make us some coffee," I said, then I walked to the kitchen. He saw this as his opportunity to let his excitement out. I saw his wide smile from the corner of my eye. I guess 'date' was a bad word choice, but damn, his celebration is cute.

Eventually, I brought him his mug of coffee. He thanked me, then we both drank it in silence.

"S-Sky?" he spoke up.

"Hmm?"

"I, Um... I wanna ask you something," he said, and he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.

"What's the matter, Gerard?"

"I... I just wanted to know if you could help me pick out what to wear for the wedding," he said, and he chuckled nervously.

"Sure," I agreed. He was acting kind of strangely, but I let it pass. Maybe it's just a symptom of alcohol withdrawals.

*~Gerard's P.O.V.~*

I mentally hit myself as I backed out of asking Sky to be my girlfriend again. That's what I was going to ask her, but instead I asked her to help me choose what to fucking wear. I'm such a coward, but I just get so nervous when I look into her eyes. I don't want her to say no to being my girlfriend, and I really don't want to pressure her into saying yes when she's not ready.

I hope the wedding goes well. Maybe Sky will fall in love with me again there. Maybe if I'm romantic enough, she'll want to be my girl again.

What if she isn't even attracted to me anymore? I have let myself go a little bit since I dumped her. My hair is messy, I haven't shaved in a while, and I've even gained a little weight since we broke up, because of all the alcohol and the lack of movement. That's unacceptable if I want her to take me back.

I hope she'll take me back. I'll do anything to make her love me again.
