After that, Gerard and I ended up staying at the park for a long time, after I scolded him for ruining the mood by mentioning the fact he couldn't play here when he was little, because of the dead bodies they found in the pond. We eventually went to the playground, and he took so many pictures of me there. Gerard and I were both a bit childish, so we were on the swing set for a long time.

It was only about 5:00 PM when we left the park, so we still had plenty of time.

"Do you wanna go get ice cream or something? I know you woke up late, so we didn't have breakfast all that long ago, so I figured you wouldn't be all that hungry for dinner or anything. Although, I am taking you out to a really nice dinner some night while we're here. Just because we're on vacation doesn't mean we can't go on dates. But anyway, do you want ice cream?"

I giggled. "Sure, babe. Ice cream sounds great. There won't be any ex-girlfriends at the ice cream place, will there?" I joked.

He chuckled, obviously relieved that I had a better attitude about the ex-girlfriends now. "Not that I know of, unless they got a job super recently. If they did, I'll make sure to point out that I'm buying ice cream for me and my beautiful lady, so they'll know I'm taken. I'm all for PDA if it gets them to leave us alone. I'll make out with you right in front of them if I have to."

"Thanks, I think," I giggled.

"Don't mention it, cutie," he said with a wink, then he tried to kiss me, but I pulled away.

"Save the PDA for around the jealous exes, Way."

"What? Now I can't kiss you in public? That's no fun," he whined.

"You can't kiss me at a crowded park. There are kids here," I complained, gesturing to the little kids playing not too far from us.

He laughed. "Relax, babe. A little kiss isn't gonna traumatize them. It's not like I was gonna shove my tongue down your throat or anything. I'll save that for later," he muttered into my ear, then he pulled away and winked at me once more.

"Alright, baby. Let's just go get ice cream before you get out of hand."

Gerard and I ended up getting ice cream, and then we went back to the hotel briefly, so we could get the car, and he grabbed his backpack. He took me to a beach, which I was super excited about.

We stayed on the beach for a long time, just laying on a towel the sand and enjoying each other's company. He held me close, and we watched the sunset. After the sun had set, we just peacefully looked at the stars together.

"It's so pretty," I whispered as we both stared into the starry night sky.

"You know, 'Sky' really is a good nickname for you. You're like a human embodiment of the night sky. Actually, you're prettier than the sky. You're like a tiny little galaxy or something. The moon's got nothing on you," Gerard complimented me.

I felt my cheeks heat up, and I was once again glad it was dark, because I was blushing like crazy.

"I think that's the sweetest compliment I've ever gotten," I whispered.

"I'm a lucky man," he whispered back, slightly turning his head so he could kiss the top of mine.

"And I'm a lucky woman."

We were laying there in comfortable silence for a while, before he broke it.

"Do you think aliens are real?" he asked. I let out a giggle at the strangeness of that question.
