Chapter 46: But Was He Yours If He Wanted Me so Bad?

*~Sky's P.O.V.~*

After an hour or two, I got bored, so I decided to turn my phone back on. I didn't have any missed calls, so that was good. I guess Gerard finally took a hint.

But, within twenty minutes, my phone rang again. I assumed it was Gerard, so I wasn't going to answer, but I looked at the screen and saw that it was an unknown number from an area code I didn't recognize. That was odd, so I decided to answer it.

"Hello?" I answered.

I heard a woman chuckle on the other line. "Hello, Skylar."

I gulped. "Who is this? How do you know my name?"

"It's Eliza, silly!"

I felt my blood begin to boil. "How the fuck did you get my number?"

"Don't you remember? Mikey gave it to me like eight months ago."

I thought back to when Mikey and I first met in that coffee shop. He did say he gave Eliza my number. Fuck.

"What do you want?" I scoffed.

"So, I heard there's some trouble in paradise over there," she chuckled.

"How the fuck did you know about that?"

"I have my ways, Skylar."

I muttered the word "bitch" under my breath, but I don't think Eliza noticed.

"Now, anyway. Now that you and Gerard have broken up, you do know where he's going, right? He's going to go straight back to me. He's not good with being alone. I'm the first person he calls every single time you finally get the guts to leave his sorry ass. He's going to come back to me, Skylar. Then you'll be all heartbroken, but you'll still take him back, because that's the kind of person you are."

"Shut the fuck up. He's not going back to you this time."

"You're not there to stop him. Who says he won't get lonely and decide to call up his old favorite fling? Think about it, Skylar. Would he have cheated on you if he didn't at least have some feelings for me? Maybe he's wanted me the entire time."

"He cheated on you too. He never wanted you either."

"If he wanted you, why has he broken up with you so many times?"

"I-I... He didn't. I broke up with him the first two times. This is the first time he's broken up with me."

"Uh-huh. Maybe he broke up with you because he's fucking tired of you. Have you ever thought of that?"

I started to cry. "H-he's not tired of me. He said we'd get back together after I graduate."

"That's Gerard's bullshit at its finest. He's a fucking liar, Skylar. I hope you realize that too."

"If he's such a terrible person, why are you trying so hard to take him from me?"

"Because he's not yours. He still loves me. He'll always be mine, and you know it. He doesn't want you, he wants me. He'll never be yours. Even if you get back together, he'll only want me," she spat, so I hung up on her and started bawling.

What if she was right? What if he really loved her the entire time? What if he didn't even regret all the shit he did with her?

I felt sick to my stomach again. All this stress is really taking its toll on me.

I cried myself to sleep on the couch, and I dreamed of Gerard again.

I really hope Eliza was wrong.
