*~(The title of this chapter is from Restless Heart Syndrome by Green Day.)~*
You'd think things would have gotten better after that day, but they didn't. I guess he was mad at me for not saying I love him too. It was like history was repeating itself. We'd fight and yell every day, then we'd make up after school, then it would all repeat itself the next morning.
That first day definitely wasn't the only time Jamia and Frank witnessed Gerard yelling at me. Frank wanted to kill Gerard.
But I had graduated high school now, and I couldn't be happier! I wasn't going to let Gerard bring me down now.
Gerard was sweet after graduation. We celebrated with a dorky little dance party, and he told me how proud of me he was. Then, Denise, Mikey, Ray, and Kristin all came over to celebrate. Jamia, Frank and Pete wanted to, but they went to the graduation after-party at the school. I would have gone, but I was sure somebody would manage to sneak some alcohol in, and I didn't want to get pressured into drinking while pregnant.
I was still very hostile and distant with my friends sometimes. One day this week, they didn't even show up to walk me to school. I had to walk to school alone. But my lonely walks to school didn't matter now, because I was out of high school!
I don't even know what to call Gerard anymore. He's not my friend, and he's definitely not my boyfriend. I guess he's technically just my roommate now.
I was currently laying on the couch again. It was now the weekend, but I was pretty alone. Frank, Pete and Jamia all had other plans to celebrate the graduation apparently. I knew they really just didn't want to be around me after I had been so cold and distant.
Gerard and I were on alright terms now because of our graduation celebration, but he was still just spending most of his time upstairs, and he seemed to still be a bit upset with me.
It was now just about dinner time, so I figured I'd do something nice for Gerard and make some dinner. I looked through his cabinets and fridge and I eventually decided I was going to make some stew. I put everything into the pot on the stove, then a sharp pain shot through my lower belly. Wow, being pregnant is painful.
After dinner was done cooking, I nervously walked up the stairs towards Gerard's room. I was practically trembling as I saw his door closed. What if he's asleep, then he gets pissed when I knock?
I took a deep breath, then I knocked. I heard an irritated groan, then some movement on the other side of the door before he opened it. His hair was disheveled, he was shirtless, and he was wearing the batman pajama pants he used to wear a lot when we were dating. He must have really been asleep when I knocked.
"What?" he asked, sounding irritated as he ran a hand through his messy hair.
"I, um... I made dinner, i-if you want any," I said.
He actually slightly smiled at me. "Thanks, cutie," he said with a smirk. He was in another flirty mood. Great.
He eyed me up and down. Being pregnant made me warm all the time, so all I wore anymore were tank tops and short-shorts. Gerard seemed to enjoy this a lot.
We both walked down the stairs, and I got us each a bowl of stew. We ate in silence, but it was comfortable, unlike our usual awkward silences.
"You look really good today. Well, you always look really good, but for some reason you seem even prettier today," he rambled.
"You're sweet, but wrong," I chuckled slightly.
Suddenly another sharp pain shot through me, making me drop my spoon into my bowl. It reminded me of period cramps, but I knew it couldn't be that, because I was pregnant. Being pregnant is so painful.
Gerard looked panicked and rushed to my side. "Are you okay? What's wrong, baby?" he asked. "Shit, I meant Skylar. That's a habit. I'm sorry."
"Y-yeah. I'm fine. I just didn't know pregnancy was this painful," I chuckled humorlessly as I clutched my abdomen.
Gerard raised an eyebrow. "I don't think pregnancy should be that painful. Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yeah, I'm sure. It's probably just because it's my first pregnancy."
Gerard didn't look convinced, but he still returned to his seat on the other side of the table and continued eating.
We finished eating, so I took our bowls to the kitchen. Gerard started to go upstairs again, but I stopped him.
"Y-you don't have to go. We can hang out if you want," I said awkwardly.
He smiled at me. "Sure."
He sat on the couch with me, then we turned on the TV. I couldn't help but look at his bare chest. It had been so long since I'd seen him without a shirt. I shouldn't have still been attracted to him, but I was. Maybe it was the pregnancy hormones but damn, he looked good.
"It's so fucking hot in here," I said as another hot flash ran over me. Pregnancy made me so warm.
"Take off your shirt then," he suggested jokingly as he gestured to his bare chest.
I smacked his arm. "Pervert."
He pulled me closer to him, and I actually rested my head on his shoulder. This was the closest we'd been to cuddling in ages.
Yet another sharp pain shot through me, so I whimpered into Gerard's shoulder. He gently rubbed the area where the pain was to soothe me, just like he used to do when we were dating and I'd have period cramps.
"You shouldn't be in this much pain. I think we should take you to the doctor," he whispered as he still soothingly stroked my lower abdomen.
I shook my head as the pain began to subside again. "I'll be fine."
I eventually left to go to the bathroom, and that's when I saw the blood. I finished up in the bathroom before I ran out to Gerard.
"We need to get to a hospital."

FanficI used to have a description for this but it keeps deleting itself. Read it if you want. It's a sequel. It's probably badly written. I'm bad at updating ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
