Tessa

I run off stage, my heart thumping. I’m still dancing to ‘Honey, Honey’, my first song in week eight, the theme being Abba. Last week was Guilty Pleasures, and I sung ‘One Thing’ by One Direction and got through fine and the week before that I sung ‘Your Song’ by Elton John for best of British, and I got through fine on that too.

“Tessa!” Liv squeals, running towards me and hugging me tightly, “That was amazing!”

“Tessa!” Brandon squeals as well, although his squeal is a manly squeal, “You were brilliant!” I grin, hugging my brother and my best friend tightly. Liv grins and leads me back to the Contestants room. District Three and Ella have both left in previous weeks, which leaves Christopher, Rylan, Jahmene, James and Union J, who are all sat with Tash and Katy and Maryanne. Tash is talking quietly to Jaymi and George, Katy is talking to JJ and Maryanne and Josh are having a snogging session, not caring if the cameras on them, because they went public with their relationship last week.

As soon as we enter, George looks up and smiles at me. I turn away from him quickly. I still haven’t spoken to him except from in awkward interviews. There are still rumours going around that we’re dating, but I wave them off even more quickly than I waved them off when we were actually dating.

To be honest, I don’t really understand him. One minute he says that we need space and that we need to break up, and then the next, he’s chasing after me asking me why I’m not talking to him. I’m just giving him the space he needed. And also distancing myself from him so that he can’t break my heart again.

“Tessa!” Rylan cries, “That was amazing!”

Rylan and I have become good friends these past few weeks.

“Rylan!” I cry back, running over to him and hugging him tightly. He grins and hugs me back tightly. I sniff his hair. “Urgh, Rylan.”

“What?” Rylan giggles manically.

I roll my eyes, “Did you use my shampoo again?” Rylan giggles again even more manically. He’s not even drunk yet. God, I don’t even want to see him when he is drunk. I laugh to myself, “Well, just go around and smell like a girl.”

“Ok.” Rylan giggles even more.

“TESSA!” The Union J boys stand up quickly and charge towards me, smothering me in hugs. When they finally let go, I realise that George is standing behind them. I close my eyes as he walks towards me, his arms open wide. No matter how much I want to hug  him, I can’t. I mustn’t allow myself to get attached again. Instead, I dodge him and sit down next to Rylan, who turns to me, worry in his eyes.

“Ok, Tessa,” He says quietly, which is unheard of when it comes to Rylan, “What’s going on with you and your relationship with George.”

“There is no relationship.” I mutter bitterly.

Rylan rolls his eyes, “I know that, but what about this ‘we can still be friends’ business.”

“He didn’t say anything about us being friends.”

Rylan rolls his eyes again, “But obviously he wants to be friends with you!”

“But I don’t want to be his friend!” I say a little too loudly, because everyone looks over at me and Rylan, “Because-” I stop suddenly. “I think I’m going to be sick.”

In a second, someone has swooped me up into their arms and is sprinting at full speed towards the toilets, where I promptly throw up. I grimace as my lunch makes another appearance and close my eyes when I realise that the sight is just going to make me sick again.

“Shh,” George’s voice comforts me as I lean over the toilet bowl, “It’s ok. You’re going to be ok.”

“George?” I whirl around, a funny feeling in my stomach as I look up at George who is looking down at me just as gently as he did before. But that all changes when I throw up on his shoes.

Liv

I watch from the side of the stage as Tessa performs her next song, Want U Back by the Jackson Five. Her face is plastered in make-up, but it doesn’t hide her slightly green face, and every time she moves her arms – which is a lot considering the dance moves in the song – her bangles jingle and she closes her eyes, obviously hating the sound of them. The song comes to a close and Tessa breathes a sigh of relief.

I don’t really listen to many of the comments, I just focus on Tessa, who looks ill.

“Are you feeling ok, honey?” Nicole asks.

Tessa smiles weakly, “I threw up in the advert break.”

The audience gasp.

“You need to go straight back to the hotel,” Tulisa tells Tessa, “And make sure that you get better, because it’s not nice being ill.” Tessa smiles thankfully and as soon as Dermot reads out her number, she rushes towards me.

“Can we go now?” She asks quietly, and I nod, leading her towards the car and hopping in, letting her fall asleep on my shoulder.

I wake up to the sound of Tessa throwing up again in the bathroom. I open my eyes and jump up, rushing in and finding her leaning over the toilet. I slept in Ella’s bed that night seeing as Ella has gone and Tessa is sick and needs me. Really, it should be George here, but since he broke up with her, it’s not right.

“Shh,” I gather Tessa’s hair back behind her face and stroke her back soothingly, hoping that she’ll stop throwing up so that she can feel better.

“Ok,” Tessa croaks, “I’ve thrown up enough now.”

I smile sadly, “I really hope so.”

Tessa nods grimly, “I do too.” She picks herself up off of the bathroom floor and we walk towards her bed. I quickly rush out to find her a bin that I can take back to our room for her to throw up into if she needs to. Tessa smiles thankfully as I shut the door and pass her the bin.

“Movie day?” I ask her, and she nods in agreement, a smile on her face.

“WAIT FOR RYLAN!” Rylan squeals, running in and jumping onto the bed with me and Tessa. Tessa laughs. “Me and you still need to have a chat.” He says, poking Tessa’s arm.

“I’ll get some movies.” I say, hopping off the bed and walking to the DVD rack, still in earshot of their conversation.

“So you don’t want to be friends with him,” Rylan says, “That’s fine, but according to JJ he’s in agony because you’re not talking to him.”

Tessa sighs, “He broke up with me, remember.”

“So you’re doing this because you want him to regret it?” Rylan asks.

Tessa sighs again, “No. I’m not doing this because of anything. I’m just mad that he decided to drop me and now he wants us to be best friends again.”

“I think...” Rylan pauses, “I think that you two need to sort it out between yourselves. Nothing that me or Liv or any of the other boys can say or do will help. This is something that only you and George can work out.”

Suddenly, Tessa and Rylan burst out laughing, both of their laughs echoing throughout the room.

Tessa giggles even more, “I never knew you could be this serious, Rylan!”

I'm sorry that this is so short. I really couldn't think of what else to write in this chapter. So I'm sad to say that this is coming to an end soon. There are two or three more chapters and then an epilogue and then it will be finished. I was considering writing a sequel, but I'm not so sure. When I've finished this, I will be focusing on writing my Niall Horan fanfic Broken Girl so please read that!!! Also, I am thinking of writing a Hunger Games fanfic which I started writing ages and ages ago and I just found today. I might post that because I love the Hunger Games and Josh Hutcherson!!!

Yeah, so please vote/comment!!!
