I run off the stage, hugging George and Ella tightly. We just sung ‘Read All About It’ as a group.

“I LOVED IT SO MUCH!” I scream. I hear a ripple of laughter from the audience and from the judges. Did I say it that loudly?

“Quieten down please for the next act.” A stern man says. I shy into George. He’s SCARY. My phone buzzes, indicating a text. I’ll answer it when we sit back down. George and Ella laugh. Even though Josh fancies Ella, it will NEVER ruin our friendship. I’m not going to get that jealous over a guy.

George leads me to a seat and we sit down beside each other. I take my phone out of my pocket and read my message.

I sigh.

I laugh quietly. George looks at me weirdly and I show him my phone. He giggles. Clipboard man ushers us to go to the doors. I hug him as I walk past him.

George hugs me tightly before sprinting to Louis Walsh. Josh walks straight past me. I feel prickling behind my eyes. I can’t cry. I shouldn’t care. But I do. I wipe at my eyes furiously and stand beside Tulisa and Ella. They hold onto my hands tightly.

“Tulisa and the girls, Lucy, Ella and Tessa,” Dermot announces as we walk on stage, “Nicole and the boys, James, Jahmene and Rylan, Gary and the Over Twenty-Eights, Kye, Melanie, Carolynne and Christopher.” Christopher smiles at the audience. I really don’t like him.

George

“And Louis and the groups, District Three, MK1 and Union J.” Josh, JJ, Jaymi and I all smile nervously as we step out onto the stage.

“The first person definitely through to Live Shows is…………Jahmene Douglas!” Dermot announces. Jahmene smiles and Nicole cheers. I meet Tessa’s eyes and tell her that everything is ok and she will get through, but I don’t think she understands. “Lucy Spraggan………Kye Sones………Christopher Maloney……James Arthur………District Three…………Ella Henderson!” That’s all of the girls except from Tessa, “MK1…………Melanie Masson…………Union J!” We all hug each other, screaming, but that just leaves Tessa, Rylan and Carolynne. Tessa smiles a small smile at me, but there are tears in her eyes. ‘I’m going home.’ She mouths at me. No she isn’t. She was amazing. And even if she is in the bottom two, the judges would save her. I feel my heart beating faster. Tessa is too good to go.

“There is only one more space into next week’s show,” Dermot says, “Rylan, Tessa, or Carolynne. I can now reveal that the final person through is……………………………………Tessa Williams!” Tessa smiles and hugs Tulisa tightly. She runs towards us, full pelt, screaming. I catch her in my arms whilst she thrashes around screaming. She’s happy. But so are all of us.
