The next morning, Allie woke up to her dog's breath. "Eww! Sparky, go away!" she yelled at him.
"Allie, it's time to get up," a voice called to her. Still half asleep, she thought it was her dog talking.
"No, it can't be." She was still lying down trying to figure it out, when her dad walks through the door.
"You sleep well? It's noon! Get up!"
"Fiiiine," she groaned as she got up. She got dressed and headed downstairs.
"Well, look who finally woke up," Her sister, Milly, said.
"Oh, like you never sleep in, Allie shot back at her.
"Enough, girls! Allie, eat some lunch," her mom told her.
After lunch, Allie went to her room and thought for a little while. Suddenly, she got a crazy idea. She down at her computer and e-mailed Hunter Hayes. She was thinking of what to say. "Hi Hunter. I just wanted to ask you- No, that sounds desperate!" She tried again and again, then finally, she got it right. "Hey, Hunter. I'm a big fan of your music and I have both of your albums. This sounds crazy, and it is, but my school is having a concert and my friend wanted me to audition. I'm a little nervous about it, would you do a duet with me? Please get back to me before Wednesday this week if possible. Thank you. Allie Pefler." She clicked send. She knew she shouldn't get her hopes up, but it was worth a try.
She stood up, knowing it was going to be a long wait. She went outside to play with her dog to pass the time.
