Allie walked out of the school's front doors and saw Hunter's van. She walked toward it and got int. "Thank you so much for being there," she said and leaned over the center counsel and kissed his cheek.
He smiled. "I told you that I was going to be there for you."
"I know, and I'm very grateful for that. It's been a long day, can we skip rehearsal tonight?"
He looked at her. "Allie, I really hate to yell you this, I really do, but I have to."
Worried, she asked, "You're not leaving early, are you?"
"No! I wouldn't ruin that for you!" Allie was relieved. "But it's either rehearsal today or Friday. Don't you wan to go out with Easton?"
"Right, I guess we can have rehearsal today."
"Good! Cause when you were up there, you like you were having so much fun and you didn't want it to stop."
She looked at him. He really understood her like no one ever has. "I did! It was just a rush of energy!"
"That's why I love doing what I do so much. Music is all I do and I never want it to end." He returned her smile.
"Keep your eyes on the road!" Allie warned him, teasingly.
"Hey, you don't even have your license yet!" he laughed.
"So? I had a sister that I was really close to when we were little, but she died due to a car crash," Allie said fighting back tears.
Hunter didn't know what to say, so he put his hand on her leg, comforting her. "I'm sorry," was all he could say.
