"Gosh, I know!" Allie was talking to her good friend, Lucy, about the times they had in the summer.
"Hey, you know what?" Lucy changed the subject. "You should for Prism this year!"
Shocked, Allie replied, "Me? No! I'm awful!"
Lucy looked at Allie with surprise. "Have you heard yourself? You're amazing!"
Allie didn't believe Lucy. "Thanks, but I think I'll pass. I'm not very good in from of people, you know that."
The two walked down the hallway together, still talking about it. A new girl that moved in a few weeks ago, came u to them and said, "Hi. I was just wondering what the Prism Concert is."
"It's a two day concert that we have every year. It takes place in the gym. Since you're in choir, you have to be in it. Other groups perform and we have three stages. The main stage, the one against the bleachers, and the other underneath the basketball hoop. The band performs too, on the other side of the gym," Lucy explained to Danielle.
"Sounds fun. Thank you!"
"You're welcome," Lucy replied, smiling. "So, are you gonna do it?"
"Lucy! I don't want to!"
"Oh, come on! You love singing and I really think you should," Lucy said, nudging Allie. "At least give it a shot and if you really don't want to, then tell Mr. Sherman that you want cancel your audition."
Allie shrugged, thinking about it. "I guess so. But if anything happens, I'm blaming you!"
