Allie didn't know how to respond to that. "Uhm...can I think about it?"
"Yeah, take all the time you need, just don't forget," he answered, smiling at her.
"I-I won't." She walked into the kitchen to find her mom washing dishes. "Mom, the weirdest thing just happened."
Her mom didn't turn around. "And what is that?"
"Hunter called me by my name," Allie told her.
After she said that, her mom turned around. "What did he say?"
"He asked me if I could forgive him. He said, 'Will you forgive me, Allie?'" She paused and looked at her feet. "Should I?"
"Should you? What kind of a question is that?"
Allie didn't look up from her feet. "I don't know. But I'm not sure what he was even talking about. Why did he call me Emily?"
Her mom came over to her and they sat at the kitchen table. "Honey, he asked you if you could forgive him. See if his memory is back. Ask him what you guys did today."
"I guess," Allie whispered and walked out of the kitchen. She went into the living room where Hunter was. "Hey, uhm, I have a question for you now," she told him.
"Ok, go," he said. She asked him what they did that day and he replied with, "We went to a coffee shop and you were with Jason."
