"Tell me." Those words kept ringing in Allie's ears. "Well, I've never had top many friends. Three are the most I've ever had and my sister always yells at me and-" She cut her sentence short and started getting years in her eyes.
"Wanna finish or not?" Hunter asked, feeling sorry for her. She looked up at him. He came around the other side of the table and put an arm around her. "If it hurts too much, you don't have to."
"Thanks," she says, wiping her eyes.
Hunter rubbed her back, saying, "Just know that you're never alone." Those words would never leave her. They were coming from someone who meant a lot to her, even if this was going to be the only time that she would meet him.
"That means a lot, Hunter."
He smiled, wishing he could help her. He looked at her, he looked at how pretty she was, how scared she was, how lonely she looked. "You have my number, if you ever need anything, I mean anything, please, feel free to call, ok?" Allie looked up at him with tears in her eyes, she couldn't get any words out. He pulled her in and hugged her.
