"I'm not going! I'm not crazy! Please!" I scream as my mother drags me from the car and into the Insane Asylum, the Carson Asylum. "Yes you are! Just cooperate and get inside!" My mother screams back, continuing to drag me inside. I fight her grasp and push her away so I can just run away or get out of here. My mother pulls me inside to the front counter. "I am checking in my daughter! She is crazy and needs to get help. Check her in now!" My mother shouts at a woman behind the desk. She quickly types a few things on her computer.
"Miss, we need a name and what seems to be the problem with her." The woman explains.
"I'm not crazy! Please don't keep me here! My mother wants to hurt me and I need to get away! Please! Don't check me in!" I scream in terror, still fighting my mothers grasp.
"Don't listen to her. Check her in under the name Violet Clark. She has been listening to voices in her head and needs to be locked up for her sake and mine." My mother lies to the woman, who just types away on her computer. The sound makes me sick. I have always hated sounds that are repetitive and have no rhythm or beat. Like this typing. My eye twitches at the sound. Then again.
"Stop! I'm not crazy! Please don't do this to me! I don't belong here!" I shout, trying something, anything, to get out of here.
"I need a guard to get someone for ward 6, cell 18." The woman says into her com. I try to shake away from my mother, tears dripping down my cheeks.
"Please! I don't belong here! I don't belong here!" I scream as a guard replaces the grip on my arms, dragging me down a hallway.
"Please! Please! Please! I am not crazy! Don't do this to me! Please!" I scream as the guard drags me down the hallway. Tears stain my cheeks as I am slowly taken from my mother, who now has a sly smile placed on her face. The guard throws me into a room and locks the door when I am inside. I quickly look around, terrified at what is to come. Even though I know it is late and dark outside, I can't sleep, not when there are guards pacing the halls and people in other cells screaming for someone, anyone to help them. That's when I hear Kate talk to me again.
"Can't you sleep you whore? I'm getting tired, and I know you are too. Just sleep, who cares what happens to us?" Kate retorts rudely. I shake my head strongly.
"No. You're the reason I'm here. Because I talk to you and Lily. You both have ruined our lives." I hiss at Kate. Lily sighs from inside my head.
"Can't you two stop fighting? I am trying to relax and make the best of this situation." Lily says sleepily.
"No. I can't just relax and stop fighting. Violet won't sleep and we are all really tired." Kate yells to Lily.
"How are we supposed to sleep in a time like this? We are in an Asylum. We are gonna be experimented on and tortured, just because I listened to you two." I whisper angrily.
"Try to calm down Violet. We'll be fine. We will get out, I mean, we are three minds in one. We can think of something to get out of here." Lily assures me. I nod at her answer and lay down on the floor, only closing my eyes for relaxation.
"I'll try to sleep." I inform them.
"You better. I'm exhausted from all that yelling and fighting you did out there." Kate snorts as she relaxes. I sigh to calm myself and then, somehow fall asleep. I wake up to a guard dragging me from the room he had put me in the day before. I quickly wake myself up and begin to struggle against the force. He drags me by my leg across the floor and down a hallway. "Let go! I'm not crazy! I'm not supposed to be here!" I scream as the guard continues to drag me.
"Quiet girl. You'll wake up others and you'll get punished if you do that." The guard shouts at me angrily. I don't say anything after that, but I hear tons of voices. Most are from prisoners and guards yelling at them to quiet down. But the ones I focus on are the ones in my head.
"Why aren't you trying to escape? We both know what they are gonna do." Kate says angrily. I don't respond, even though I want to yell at her and tell her to stop talking.
"Kate, just calm down. We should try not to think about bad things, we need to be more positive." Lily says soothingly.
"How are we supposed to be positive when they are going to give us pills and drugs for us to sleep? Or when we get tied to a table like a lab rat?" Kate snaps. Lily doesn't respond, like I have been. Just thinking. The guard drags me into a room that looks like a lab, then he pulls me roughly to my feet.
"Wait here." The guard demands. I stay in place waiting, for whatever may happen next. After a few minutes of standing in place a man walks in, looking in his mid twenties wearing normal clothes. Not what I expected, but I'm not complaining.
"You're Violet?" He asks as he approaches me. I nod in response.
"Dave, can you leave us quickly?" The man asks the guard. The guard exits the room leaving me with this mysterious man.
"This is when you run. Because this guy is obviously insane." Kate mumbles, telling me to leave the room. I ignore her input and see what the man really is like.
"I don't think you're crazy. I read the file your mother gave us. It doesn't add up, it points to her imagination and her past makes it seem like she wanted to get rid of you. I don't think that's right. I don't think you should be here." The man says, sounding honest. I nod, showing that I understand his points, I even agree with some of them.
"Please, have a seat. My name is Jack by the way." The man says pulling up a chair. I sit in a chair across from him, still being curious about why he is helping me.
"Idiot. We need to get out of here and he will want something in return. He can't just be the perfect guy that works at an Insane Asylum. Just being honest." Kate informs me. I shake my head at her sentence and then put my focus back on Jack.
"However, they don't let me discharge. I am not in that station. And they don't believe me, but I am not going to treat someone who isn't supposed to be here. I'll help you escape. I can tell you how, you just need to listen to me." Jack says, awaiting a response from me.
"Don't trust him! That is the worst move you could ever make! I swear, if you trust him Violet. I will be screaming in your head for years about this." Kate threatens. I shake off her threat and look back at Jack, trying not to listen to anything else Kate says.
"Please, I know I'm not crazy and I know I'm not supposed to be here." I inform Jack quietly. Jack nods and moves close to my ear.
"You won't be here for much longer. I won't treat you either. Just need to act like I did." Jack whispers in my ear, which sends chills up my spine.
"Okay. How do I do that?" I ask, not looking at him, and still facing forward.
"I need to give you a sedative, and I'm supposed to give you electric therapy. So, act tired and like you just got electrocuted. All you really need to do is sleep through out the day and I'll do the rest. I'll schedule you for night appointments so that you can slip out of here undetected." Jack explains.
"Okay."
"Ready for the sedative?"
I nod and hear Kate screaming at me, that I shouldn't be trusting him and that this was a mistake. For some reason I don't think Kate is right. Jack has a certain calmness and certainty that makes me trust him, which is weird for me, I've had trust issues for a very long time. Jack grabs a needle that has a pink liquid inside.
"I'm sorry for this. It will help with the act, they also check my supplies and they will notice if I don't use this. They will also believe me more if you have a hole in your arm. This won't last long though, don't worry." Jack calms me for some reason. He has a very calm and soothing personality. The needle sticks into my arm and I instantly hear Kate scream at the top of her lungs. I try to block out the noise and focus on the beauty and fineness that Jack has with the needle. He takes it out carefully and sets it on a table.
"I'll see you soon." Jack whispers as he helps me to stand up. I nod and Jack puts a small bandage on my arm where the needle was.
"She is ready to be taken back!" Jack yells through the door, giving me a small wink. The guard from before walks in and pulls me to my feet.
"When should she come in for her next dose?" The guard asks, about to drag me out the door.
"Later on tonight. This dose is a test, to see how she reacts. Bring her back tonight at... 2AM or so?" Jack says, not daring to look at me anymore. I start to get droopy and tired, I almost collapse to the ground right then. The guard nods and drags me back down the hallway and to my room. However, the last sight I remember before I pass out is the sight of Jack waving to me as the guard drags me away.

I hope you like the story so far. And don't worry, Violet won't be able to escape that easily. I'll see you soon! Bye!
