~*Violets POV*~
I sigh when Mark begins to walk away. I want to explain everything to him, I want to hug him in my arms and tell him that I may never see him again, but I can't. If I told Mark everything, he wouldn't let me go. He wouldn't let me run away, he would insist in coming with me or doing Bobs plan. I know better. I won't let them risk their lives for me, I care about them all too much. I see Mark walk up the stairs quickly, ready to tell Bob some lie about my plan.
~*Time Skip*~
I grab my bag around my shoulder and check the contents once more. I can't forget something. I leave it next to the door and head upstairs to say goodbye to all the guys.
"Why do you always want to make things difficult?" Kate asks angrily.
"I'm just saving the people I love, so can you just shut up and let me live my life?" I respond.
"Fine." She responds with a sigh. I step into the first room at the top of the stairs and see Jack sitting at the edge of the bed, he was waiting for me.
"Hey." I say softly approaching him. Jacks head pops up and his bright blue eyes focus on me. I see tear stains all over his cheeks and eyes.
"Hey." Jack responds, much quieter than I've ever heard before. "Are you about to go?" Jack asks in the same, raspy voice. I nod lightly, sitting next to Jack on the bed.
"I hope you understand. I love you, and because I love you, I cannot risk your life for my own. Heh, I guess I really am gonna cry." I try to smile through tears that are now rolling down my cheeks.
"We can protect you, Bob is already making a plan to help you. Please don't leave, not right now." Jack pleads sadly.
"I have to. Because they don't have me, they will keep looking until they do and I can't go through that again. I just can't. I love you, but I have to go to stay alive." I say sweetly grasping Jacks hand in mine and another tear drifting down my cheek.
"I love you, I will look for you as soon as I can. I swear on my life." Jack tells me with a tear slipping from his eye.
"If you stop seeing my signals, stop looking. Promise me that." I say sternly.
"I will look until I find you." Jack responds.
"No. You will stop looking once you stop seeing my signals. You will make Mark stop looking, you will all forget about me and live whatever life you can without me. Promise me." I say sternly again.
"But, how can I-" I cut off Jack.
"Promise me." I say sternly. Jack sighs heavily and gives my hand a light squeeze.
"I promise. I'll miss you." Jack says sweetly.
"I'll miss you too. Explain what I did in the morning. You need your sleep, it will also take your mind off things." I say leading Jack to lay down on the bed. I tuck Jack into the bed and kiss his forehead as I leave his room. I close his door, to make it easier on both of us when I go. I softly step down the hall and get to the next room which has Wade packing a bag inside. I lightly knock on the cracked open door to get his attention and he puts down everything in his hands.
"Hey." I say softly.
"Hey. What's up?" Wade asks.
"I just wanted to tell you that, even though we didn't leave today, I appreciate everything you guys did for me. And everything that you have done for me, I really appreciate it all." I say gratefully.
"Oh, no problem. We are planning in leaving tomorrow or the day after. I hope it isn't that bad being here." Wade explains with a smile. I nod lightly, little does he know I'm not leaving tomorrow, I'm leaving right now.
"Well, I'm gonna go to bed. Can I get a hug goodnight?" I ask, just trying to get an excuse to hug him.
"Sure." Wade shrugs, opening his arms for me to enter for the hug. I hug Wade tightly, knowing deep inside that I may never see him again. Wade runs his fingers over my back soothingly. We finally separate and I hold back my tears from the moment.
"Well, goodnight. I'll see you in the morning." Wade says happily. I nod lightly, knowing he won't be seeing me tomorrow.
"Goodnight. And, thanks again for everything you've done for me." I say slowly backing out of the room. Wade nods in his understanding and waves goodbye. I close his door and sigh heavily. I slowly walk to the next room and see Bob sitting on his bed reading a book. Such a strange, but normal thing to be doing in your time. Reading.
"Hey." I say slowly opening the door and walking inside. Bob puts down the book and turns to look at me.
"What's up?" Bob asks.
"Oh, I just wanted to thank you, for everything you've done for me." I thank him sincerely.
"It was really no problem. I have a new plan, I can tell you in the morning. Right now, we both need some sleep." Bob chuckles.
"Can I get a hug? I feel weird just thanking you and nothing else." I make up my excuse.
"Oh, uh, sure." Bob stands from his bed and opens his arms for an embrace to begin. I hug him tightly until I think my message had been got through and I can remember the feeling.
"Goodnight. You need some sleep for tomorrow." Bob chuckles again.
"Goodnight." I reply. Bob nods lightly and allows me to leave his room. I give Bob a wave and close the door behind me. This next room is going to be the hardest to enter, and almost impossible to leave. I take in a deep breath and begin to approach the door to Marks room. I poke my head in his room and see him sitting on his bed sleepily. Mark turns his head towards me and smiles instantly.
"Hey. Gonna explain it to me?" Mark chuckles. I sit on the bed next to Mark and interlock my fingers with his.
"I will, but you're not gonna like it." I pause. Mark nods lightly, awaiting my explanation.
"I'm leaving. I have to, I won't let you all risk your lives for me. I won't let you. Jack and I made a plan for you guys to be able to track me. You can make a better trade without me here and then you can start looking for me. What I'm doing now is saying goodbye." I explain with a sigh.
"You can't. One of us can go with you." Mark says sternly.
"No, it will be more suspicious if you come with me. You need to trade and be a leader for them." I explain with a soft smile.
"But you need someone to protect you, earlier you told me being alone terrifies you. I will go with you, or... You can't go." Mark says, I can tell he is trying to stay strong for the moment. I put my hand to Marks cheek for support.
"I have to, in order to protect you. Please make this easy, I am going alone whether you want me to or not." I say sternly. Mark sighs and stares deep into my bright green eyes."I just... I care about you so much, I don't know how I can live without you. What signal are you using for us to track you?" Mark asks concern in his eyes.
"This little thing. I'm gonna carve it into tress." I explain pulling out the paper Jack gave me. Mark holds the paper examining the image carefully. Mark pulls out a pen and begins to scribble down a separate image.
"If you're in a rush... Make this instead. I'll tell Jack." Mark says handing me the paper. I see a small, pink mustache drawn next to Jacks septic eye.
"Okay. You'll find me, trust me." I say rubbing my thumb over Marks scruffy beard on his cheek.
"I...I can't lose you." Mark says, his voice cracking and tears beginning to drip from his eyes.
"You won't. You'll find me. I love you, Mark." I say soothingly. I then notice a tear drip down my cheek.
"I love you too, I will find you. You know that I will. You know that Jack will. I will see you again, this isn't our final goodbye. I will miss you though, and I-" I cut off Marks blabbering by pressing my lips to his. Mark puts his hand on the back of my neck, holding me safely. I release from Mark after a little while and open my eyes slowly. I see Marks eyes flutter open and a tear drip from one of them.
"I need to go... I love you." I whisper .
"I love you, so much. I'll see you again. Never stop putting signals for us." Mark tells me, sadness in his voice.
"I won't. I'll see you again." I say wrapping my arms around Marks neck to hug him. Mark hugs me tightly, as if he would never let go. I release from Mark and quickly get off the bed.
"I love you. Goodbye." I say as I walk out of the room, I can't help but turn to see Mark one last time.
"Goodbye. For now." Mark whimpers. I close the door to his room and keep my emotions hidden deep inside myself. I quickly grab my bag and crossbow. I then open the front door stepping out into the night.
