I drift in and out of sleep for a few hours, until I wake up and don't immediately sleep again. In the cell next to me, I can hear someone singing "twinkle, twinkle, little star" over and over again. It keeps me awake I guess. I stand and look through small bars on the door and see a few guards pacing the halls as well as a young man being dragged down a hallway with a sign that reads 'Execution Room'. I cringe at the sight and decide to walk away from the door, not wanting to see more of the horrors this hospital has to offer. I sit in one of the corners, trying to clear my mind and officially wake up.
"Well, you made a huge mistake trusting that guy. He is probably gonna kill us, or rape us or make us his little puppet. That nice guy routine, can't be real. He is risking his job for some girl that is in a nut house? I don't think so." Kate retorts angrily.
"Well, its supposed to be MY mind. And MY body, you are just a visitor here and you are the reason I'm here. So I think I can trust whoever I want and do whatever I want, because its supposed to be my life and my body. But you already ruined that." I reply.
"At least I am trying to give you a life that doesn't end in here. I don't trust that guy, and I don't think you should either. He had a bad vibe." Kate says, trying to sound caring, but failing.
"No he didn't. He seemed sweet and trustworthy. He seemed like he could actually do something and that he was. And everything he said, he actually did." I reply, trying to convince Kate of her error in mind.
"He seemed nice. I don't know if we should immediately trust that though, but I don't think he had a bad vibe." Lily says sweetly. I nod at her response and lean my head on the wall.
"Do you think Violet is making the right choice though?" Kate asks awaiting Lily's response.
"I'm not sure. I think that if we get out of here from her choice, its the right choice. But I do think it's worth a try, but don't rely on him too much." Lily advises.
"I won't. And I agree." I inform them.
"Fine. I'll be quiet then." Kate says with a huff. I smirk lightly and sit, waiting to see Jack again. I'm not sure why he would try to gain my trust just to hurt me. I mean, everyone already thinks I'm crazy so they probably wouldn't believe me if I told them that Jack was doing anything. The sound of the door opening breaks my thought and I quickly jump to my feet, not wanting to be dragged again. The guard grabs my arm and pulls me back to the lab. When we get there he pushes me into the same chair as before and I instantly see Jack come out from behind a curtain and tell the guard to leave.
"How are you feeling?" Jack asks as he casually checks my eyes and the shot he gave me earlier.
"Fine." I respond quietly.
"Good enough to run?"
"Sure. How far?"
"Not too far, just a block or two. I'll pick you up after a while though."
"What do you mean?"
"You run as far as you can get, I'll pack up my things and then pick you up along the road, and I'll let you have a place to stay for the night. Then we are going to run more." I tilt my head at his explanation.
"We are running?" I question.
"Yeah, I can't stay here when I break you out. They'll arrest me and take you back."
"Oh, okay. Where will we go?"
"I bought plane tickets to my home country, Ireland. We can stay there for a while." Jack explains. I try to ignore all of the threats and concerned yells from Kate and Lily.
"Okay. When do we leave?"
"Tomorrow morning. Bright and early, before they realize you're gone."
"Okay. Let's leave."
Jack helps me from the chair and takes me to a door behind a curtain. He leads me through it and takes my hand for an easier way to guide me. He leads me down a hallway and to a door that has a bright green 'EXIT' sign above it.
"Run as fast as you can. Stay near the main road, I'll pick you up soon. I'll be in a Blue Subaru, stay alert and keep an eye out for my car." Jack says as he opens the door and let's me outside. I nod and run away from the door. This is the only time I listen to Kate and Lily's cries.
"Ireland? Are you serious? This is more crazy than they think you are!" Kate hisses at me.
"I think this is further than we should go. We should wait here, what if his car passes us?" Lily asks, sounding terrified.
"He won't. Both of you, shut up and let me run." I say between breathes of air coming into my lungs. I run through a woods area nearby, but keep my eyes glued to the road.~Jacks POV~
I quickly grab my keys and exit the door, hopping into my car. I don't want Violet to wait too long in the cold, or get caught by one of the patrols. I quickly start the car and begin to drive down the road, careful to see her, even if she is hidden in the trees. I drive slowly looking through the tress and whispering for Violet to come if she is nearby. Eventually I see her running down the side of the road. I stick my head out the window.
"Hey! Get in!" I shout stopping the car next to her. Violet gasps and quickly runs into the car. That's when the sirens start.
"What is that?" Violet asks sounding concerned. I shake my head in disbelief and start to drive as fast as I can to get Violet out of here and myself. I stomp on the gas and the car speeds off down the road. I see bright red and blue lights speed down the road after me.
"Fuckin' hell, I don't have time for this." I mumble under my breath at the situation. I take a quick turn down an abandoned road, just trying to get away from the lights and sirens. I hide the car in a few trees next to the road and take out the keys while shoving Violet out and jumping out of the car myself.
"Follow me. We have to ditch the car for now." I say quietly as I start into a run with Violet following behind me. I take a turn and then I am faced with exactly what I didn't want to see. A patrol stands right in front of me. I need an excuse. I need a cover up.
"Mr. McLoughlin, what are you doing out here?" The patrol asks. I quickly grab Violets arm for the cover up.
"A prisoner escaped. I was getting her back to the facility. Can you tell the guards that? I don't want any questioning." I make up my excuse with my excellent lying skills.
"Yes sir. I can take the prisoner back if you wish." The guard says eyeing Violet in a disgusting manner. I know what he would do to her, and I promised to get her out. I can't let him take her and do what he wants with her. I shake my head.
"I got her. I need to finish her dose for today." I explain as I slowly back away, back to my car.
"Alright. I'll tell them that they can go back inside." The guard pulls out his radio.
"Hello, this is patrol #B157. I have confirmation that you can take back the search cars." He tells the radio putting it back on his belt and nodding for me to go. I take Violet back to my car and quickly start the engine once more. As I do this I notice Violet shivering and looking terrified. Before I begin to drive I take off my lab jacket and hand it to her.
"It will help warm you up a little. My house is a little ways away." I explain putting the car into drive and zooming off towards my home.
