I roll over and then fall off the couch. Forgot about that. I sit up and rub my head from the fall, that didn't help my headache. I look around remembering that we really did get a house and it wasn't a dream. I look over to the kitchen and see Wade pouring himself... Is that coffee? I jump off the ground and run into the kitchen.
"Is that real?" I ask excitedly.
"Yeah, you should get some before Mark wakes up." Wade chuckles handing me a mug. I grab the pot off the counter and pour myself a cup of coffee. That's one of the things I've missed the most since the apocalypse started. I drink some of the liquid and instantly melt with happiness.
"Hey! I made that pot!" Jack shouts as he comes out of the dining room holding his mug. I laugh and drink another sip of coffee, not caring about the flavor or temperature, just the fact it is coffee.
"Hey! Why are you shouting this early?" Felix whines as he walks down the stairs sleepily.
"I'm just a loud person." Jack says seriously, but everyone else chuckles at the fact.
"You didn't have to wake up the whole house." Mark chuckles from the dining room.
"They were gonna wake up anyway." Jack whines with a small giggle. I look over to the dining room and see Bob, Tyler, and Mark sitting at a small table with coffee mugs in their hands. I turn my eyes back to Jack.
"I need to talk to you." I whisper to him. Jack nods and leads me to one of the spare rooms no one was using.
"What is it?" Jack asks closing the door and turning to face me.
"Its more of a question." I start. Jack nods for me to continue. I sigh, knowing this will not be easy.
"If you had to choose between being with me for your enjoyment, or me being with Mark for my enjoyment, what would you choose?" I ask avoiding Jacks eyes. Jack gives me a puzzled look, confused at what I ask of him.
"Are you not happy with me?" He asks.
"No, just answer. I'll explain after." I say with a sigh.
"Whatever would make you happy. Your feelings are more important than mine." Jack states. "Why do you ask?" Jack adds. I sigh, it's gonna be a long day.
"I have been deciding between you and Mark, I'm going to ask you both this. It is how I'm deciding. It shows your feelings and helps me realize the truth about you both." I explain with a sigh. Jack nods and lifts my chin to his face.
"As long ad you're happy, I don't care who you are with." Jack whispers sweetly. "Should I ask Mark to come in for you to ask him?" Jack asks as he slowly backs away towards the door.
"That would help. Thanks so much. I'll tell you who I choose." I say with a smile. Jack nods and walk out of the room. A few seconds later Mark walks on, closing the door behind him.
"Hey, Jack told me you wanted to ask me something." Mark explains approaching me slowly.
"Did you decide?" He asks, looking at the ground. I shake my head.
"No, I just want to ask something, I'll explain it after you answer okay?" I wait for his response. Mark nods and looks up at me.
"If you had to choose between me being with you for your enjoyment, or me being with Jack for my enjoyment, what would you choose?" I ask. Mark let's a laugh escape his mouth.
"I'm not mad." He says as he starts to walk away. I grab his shoulder to stop him.
"I didn't decide. Answer and I will." I say. Mark turns to face me, tears already forming in his eyes.
"I already know who you pick. Even if you don't, you want to be with him more than me. If you want to, be with him. I won't be selfish with you." Mark says. I shake my head, I guess that's the best answer I'll get.
"I asked Jack the same thing. Wanna know who I really choose?" I ask with a light smile. Mark nods, awaiting my response.
"To be completely honest, I could never choose between you both, but I know I have to. So, what I've decided is, I will decide through experiences. I will be with neither of you for now. I'm going to be friends with both of you and eventually, probably develop a relationship with one of you." I explain with a soft smile. Mark nods slightly putting a smile on his face.
"Well, I'm happy either way. You should probably tell Jack." Mark states.
"Yeah, I need more coffee." I chuckle as I start to walk out of the room. Mark lightly grabs my arm before I am able to leave and turns me lightly. I turn back to Mark and his hand slowly slides down to mine, his fingers interlock with mine.
"Can I have one last kiss before we become just friends?" Mark asks hopefully. A laugh escapes my mouth and I nod.
"Sure." I press my lips to Marks lightly and wrap my arm around Marks neck lovingly. Mark puts a hand on the back of my neck, holding me safely. I release from Mark only when I am out of breath and need to let go. Mark releasee my neck and my hand. I slowly release my arm and put it at my side.
"Thank you." Mark whispers sweetly.
"No problem." I reply. I walk out of the room with Mark following close behind me. I see Jack sitting on the couch I fell asleep on last night. I jump over the couch and sit next to him.
"Someone's in a good mood." Jack laughs.
"Well, I have to explain something to you." I chuckle. I explain my choice to Jack and he takes it surprisingly well.
"Understandable. I'm gonna make another pot of coffee, because I've missed that a lot in my life." Jack chuckles as he hops giddily to the kitchen. I grab my coffee mug off the table and follow Jack to get more coffee. I drink a few more sips of my mug and then set it down on the counter.
"I'm gonna explore the town. Anyone wanna come with?" Felix calls from the front door.
"Sure. Just a second." I call back grabbing my combat boots off the ground and starting to tie them tightly once on my feet look up to see Mark hiving me a concerned look. I finish tying my boots and approach him slowly.
"I'll be fine. I know how to protect myself." I say soothingly. Mark nods, knowing that I have survived this long for a reason.
"If you need anything, come back. We'll beat the shit out of anyone who touches a hair on your head. Got it?" Mark says threateningly. I know its just because he worries about my safety, especially because of yesterday. I nod lightly and lightly caress Marks cheek.
"I'll be fine. Trust me." I say softly giving Mark a sweet smile.
"Okay. Be back soon." Mark says forcing a smile to his face. I nod and start to walk towards the door. I see Felix standing in the doorframe with a pistol in hand.
"Ready?" He asks. I nod and feel my pocket to realize that I have a short dagger inside it. Felix opens the door and begins to walk outside. I follow him down the steps of the house and down the block towards a part of town I never had seen.
