~*1 Year Later*~

I run alongside Jack, who is holding my hand tightly, and Mark, who is holding a knife to get any Eaters we may find. Bob and Wade in front of us, are holding pistols and a bag of food and water, with myself holding another.
"The heard should be far by now. We might be able to find a base for tonight." Mark shouts to the group. I look at Jack and the at Mark, continuing to run with the others.
"Soon, we need to find a base first." Jack comments in his loud voice.
"Yeah, go to the woods?" Bob asks motioning to the forest next to the road we are running on.
"Let's go." I suggest beginning to change my direction towards the trees.
"Why did you say that? We will just get lost in the trees now." Kate comments anger obvious in her voice.
"Can it Kate." I mumble as the group turns to the trees. We all run through the forest until we happen upon a cabin that could make a base for the night.
"I'll check it." I offer as I pull my crossbow from my back and make sure it's loaded.
"I'll go with. I haven't checked in a while." Mark offers as he gets his knife ready to swing at any Eaters that may be inside. Mark and I walk to the cabins door and slowly open it. I look through the scope on my crossbow, ready to shoot it. I motion for Mark to come inside and try to listen for any Eaters. Mark and I go through each room until we checked the entire house. I lower my crossbow and put the strap over my shoulder so it's placed on my back. I start for the exit when Marks hand touches my shoulder.
"Hey, I gotta tell you something." He says quietly. I nod for him to continue and turn to face him.
"Before the car broke down and the hoard came, what were you gonna say?" Mark asks. I think back to the conversation we had in the car. I sigh softly, moving my eyes so they meet Marks.
"That, I was scared. So scared, and  that I was going to have to chose between you and Jack, but... I care for you both and I don't know how to chose. And that I sometimes wish we did die, so that I wouldn't have to explain what happened between us. Because I don't want to understand it, or explain any of it to anyone." I explain my memory.
"I won't get mad if you don't chose me. I've always wanted to protect you, it just grew and I know its not my place to say that. I just hope you're happy with whoever you chose. I won't tell Jack if you chose him, I don't want to ruin your choice." Mark explains sweetly.
"I know. I'll try to chose soon." I inform Mark with a sigh.
"Okay. Let's go back out there, they'll be suspicious if we don't get back soon ." Mark says as he leads me back outside the cabin. I walk out and see the others standing next to one another. Jack looks into my eyes and I nod, which seems to explain it all. The others walk into the cabin with us and almost immediately take out food and water for each of us. Bob hands me my portion of food and water for today with a soft smile that fades quickly.
"Thanks." I say, taking it graciously. I eat my portion and drink the small bit of water given to me. I sit in the corner of the main room and lay my head against the wall to relax myself and try to decide. However, that's hard when I see Mark eyeing me and Jack sitting next to me. I almost laugh at the situation, but Kate beats me to it. I look over at Jack who sits next to me and see he is polishing his rifle with a napkin.
"You should rest. I can take first watch." Jack says looking up from polishing.
"I can't sleep right now." I say with a small laugh. Jack nods and looks back at his rifle.
"Well, if you won't sleep, I will." Jack laughs as he leans on my shoulder.
"Sweet dreams Jackarooney." I whisper as I grasp his hand into mine. I look up and see Mark looking strait at me. 'I haven't chosen' I mouth to him. Mark nods and mouths 'I know' and closes his eyes, leaning his head back on the wall.
"Are you taking first watch?" Wade asks as he eats his portion of food in one bite.
"Yeah, you and Bob can sleep if you want." I inform them. Bob leans against a wall and falls asleep with Wade doing the same. This will give me some time to think and try to decide why to chose. Ever since I have met Mark, I instantly fell in love. His powerful, deep voice, his strong, loving arms, even the way he kills an Eater, made me fall in love. As soon as I met Mark, the only thoughts I had were nervous and scrambled in my head. I've gotten to know Mark better now, and he has made it obvious that he is interested in me. However, with everything that happened with Mark, that and more has happened with Jack. I learned that his real name is Sean, but Jack was a nickname his family used and eventually everyone called him Jack. Jacks eyes can melt me and his smile is like heaven, even the way Jacks messy hair looks every day takes my heart. Jack has been like my boyfriend, but not entirely. He has acted like one, cuddling with me, holding my hand and countless other things, but when it is time to really show love, Jack doesn't really do much. It's as if we care about each other enough that we don't need to show it, that through everything we've been through makes us closer in a way. I don't know how I can chose between them. They are both perfection without noticing it. I sigh in frustration and look around the cabin. I then hear moaning and gurgling outside the cabin. Eaters. I slowly move Jacks head so he isn't leaning on my shoulder, but the wall instead and crept over to the door. I notice a small window on the door and look through it slightly. I see an Eater wandering around, I look for more if there could be any more of them and don't see anymore. I grab a knife out of my combat boot and slowly open the door. I hastily walk behind the Eater and stab the brain hard with the knife. Blood spits near my face and the Eater collapses on the ground, dead. I look around for any more and don't find any, so I quietly go back into the cabin shutting and locking the door once more. I walk back to my corner and replace Jacks head on my shoulder and slip my hand back in his. I sigh in relief and look around the room. I then realize that Marks eyes opened and they are locked on me. "What's wrong?" I whisper just loud enough for him to hear.
"Couldn't sleep." He whispers back. I nod, I've had countless nights where Kate wouldn't stop bothering me or I couldn't relax enough to let myself sleep.
"I can watch if you want sleep. I've seen how tired you are, it looks like you haven't slept in days." Mark informs he quietly.
"I'm fine... I don't even know if I could sleep if I tried." I whisper back. Mark nods and moves a bit closer to me, close enough that his shoulder touches mine.
"Do you have a test or something to chose between us?" Mark asks with a chuckle. I shrug my shoulders and lean more on the wall.
"It's a lot of thinking. I wouldn't call it a test, because a test you can pass just by taking, this is more like... Trying out for something. It will either work or not. The decision is the hard part..." I trail off as I look up at Mark.
"I know, but it is your choice. We can't decide for you, even though I wish we could. It wouldn't be fair to any of us." Mark explains with a soft smile on his face. I smile back and slip my other hand into Marks.
"I love you both. I want you to know that no matter who I choose." I say softly. Mark nods and interlocks his fingers with mine.
"I love you too. Either way I will. I won't be mad at you if you don't choose me." Mark whispers with a sweet and soft smile cross his face. I then feel Jack roll his head over my shoulder and look at Mark cautiously. I turn my head back to Jack and see his eyes twitch and slowly open. I quickly release Marks hand and place it on my lap instead.
"How long was I asleep?" Jack asks as he yawns.
"Not long, you can sleep more if you need to." I say sweetly.
"I'm good. We should go search for food. Bob said we were running out." Jack explains. I nod,
"I can go on a run." I offer and Mark puts a hand on my shoulder.
"You can't go alone." He says sweetly.
"Yeah, I can go if you want. But I know Mark can scavenge better than me." Jack explains, looking strait at Mark. A laugh escapes my mouth at the thought, choosing again.
"Either way. One of you, just come." I say as I stand up and grab my crossbow and a bag to carry supplies.
"Mark, you go. You'll be more of a help than I can be." Jack demands as he pushes Mark to his feet. I set down the bag and go to Jack who is still sitting on the floor. Jack cups my face and kisses me lightly.
"Be careful. I love you." He whispers as he let's go of me.
"Love you too. And you know I'm always careful." I laugh lightly as I stand up once more. I grab the supply bag and wrap it over my shoulder.
"Bye Violet, be safe!" Jack calls as I open the cabin door.
"Bye Jack, we'll be back soon." I call back as Mark and I walk out the door and head to a nearby town. When Mark and I get to the town we look for stores that might have foods.
"Wanna take the supermarket? It might have some stuff." I say, looking at Mark.
"Yeah, let's check it out." Mark says as he pulls out his knife and I ready my crossbow to shoot at any second. We walk into the store and I instantly hear the moans and footsteps of Eaters. I turn a corner and shoot a few in the head while Mark gets a few others. Once I am done I retrieve all the arrows that hadn't been broken and put them in my satchel. I then turn around and see Mark grabbing things from shelves and putting them into his bag.
"I'll check the rest of the store." I say as I walk around a few corners and find no Eaters anywhere. Strange. I then turn a corner and see a surviver looking at me in terror. I lower my crossbow and sigh.
"I wonder what we're gonna do with you." I mumble, examining the surviver.
