Chapter 43 - "A year to Remember..."
'Why. Would you sit down you little munchkin' John yelled at Aria but not in a horrible way. More of a jokingly way.
She giggled as she ran through the rooms of the flat running away from John who she had taken quite the likening too even though she had only met him yesterday.
'You've got nowhere to hide little one. I'll find you' he said tickling her little frame where she was hidden under the bedsheets in Clara's room.
He hoisted her up, throwing her over his shoulder and tickled her all the way to the sofa where she was in hysterics.
'Mummy. He's funny' she said climbing on Clara's lap - of which made Clara wince seeing as she had only given birth three days ago.
'Hmm. He's loud, I know that for sure' Clara scoffed as Adie came in and sat on the floor by Clara's feet as John finally finished putting the tree up.
'Much better. We needed a little Christmas in here didn't we Adie' John smirked, handing Adie the tinsel and she started wrapping it around the tree carefully, as he himself placed baubles in the places where they belonged.
'Star' Aria announced as Clara handed her the star and John lifted her up to reach the top and helped her place the silver star on top of the tree.
'Shoppings here' Clara said as the buzzer went and told them that John would be down now.
He took the stairs two at a time as he ran to meet the Tesco's shop that he had ordered and unloaded it all up to Clara's flat.

'Now don't you three all look very cute in your Christmas pyjamas' John smirked, lifting Aria onto the sofa next to Adie and gently placed Ollie into Adie's arms for a moment just so he could get a good snap of the three of them before bed.
'Why do I have to go to bed? I'm bigger than her Daddy' Adie said stubbornly not happy about the fact that she was having to share John so very suddenly.
She had, had John whenever she wanted him for a year and now all of a sudden there was two other kids that he was paying attention too.
'Because if you don't go to bed then Santa won't come will he?'
She thought about that and decided that maybe going to bed wouldn't be too much of a problem, so he led her towards Aria's bedroom where John had laid out an air mattress and duvets for her to sleep on, and lifted Aria into her cot for Clara to come and say goodnight.
Once they were both happily in bed with their stockings at the end of the bed John stepped out to find that Clara was hunched over the white basket that contained the tiny baby.
'He's so cute. I never really thought about having any more kids I have to be honest - but I'm kind of glad I have' John confirmed making Clara smile.
'We'll sort something out John. After Christmas. I won't let you not be a part of his life' Clara whispered gently collapsing back into the sofa behind her but she looked sad.
'What's wrong?'
'This. It's all too perfect. My life has a way of Fucking up - which means that something bad is about to happen' she pouted.
'Hey, don't say that. Nothing bad is going to happen. I've even called in a favour for you at work' John smiled as he sat down next to Clara on the sofa.
'What?'
'You said your struggling and that you hate your job... Well why not come and work with me? I need a new temporary registrar anyway. If you work out then you can stay indefinitely' John smiled really exited about his plan.
'Are you serious?' Clara asked looking up knowing that the references probably wouldn't be all that great.
'You'll be working under me - but that won't be a problem. I'll show you the ropes and all the things you have to do and you don't start until I go back in February giving you a full months paternity leave' he grinned.
But looked down noticing that Clara was crying. 'What did I do? Your crying?' John said noticing that Clara was in tears.
'Yeah. Umm. Only because no one has ever done anything this amazing for me. No one has ever gone out of their way to get me a job or help me look after my child' Clara wept.
'Well things are looking up for you then aren't they Clara Oswald' he said cupping her face but wasn't sure whether to kiss her or not - but he did anyway, brushing his mouth over her mouth and felt the deep intake of breath that Clara took whilst latched onto his mouth.
He couldn't help but go to kiss her deeper just like their first meeting - of course their first meeting was far more rough around the edges and this was much more sensual.
John wouldn't be making any more habit of having sex in a bathroom. From now on it would be beds only and places that have protection at all times.
Two kids to contend with was just enough for now - three if you count Aria.
'So what happens now?' Clara asked. 'You and me... What happens now?'
She knew she didn't want John to go anywhere, but that's not something she can control.
She barely knows him - of course he has literally seen inside her and removed her organs... So potentially he's seen more of her and knows more about her than any other man in the world.
'I don't know. It depends what you want to happen' John said, more than happy for them to live until happily ever after - but this isn't a fairytale and he knows that.
His life goes around in circles way too much for this to be a fairy tale.
'We've got four weeks to work that out. For now it's Christmas, let's just enjoy it while we can' John smiled, wrapping an arm around her shoulder as she gently rested her head in his chest.
