Chapter 36 - "30 and Counting..."
Well don't you look all pretty and cute?' John smirked as his Daughter stepped out of the bedroom happily grinning like a monkey in her school uniform.
John was proud to say that over 8 months ago he never would have considered himself a parent but now he was standing here with his almost 5 year old Daughter wearing her new uniform and getting ready for her first day.
She stood with her braids in her hair that Amy had done the previous evening and had managed to survive the night, her uniform all intact and bag on her back.
'Can we go?' She begged as John chuckled - knowing that in a few weeks time she probably won't be this excited about going to school.
'You need to eat first you little rascal' John joked, picking her up and placing her on the stool at the island and started arranging a bowl of porridge for her.
He squeezed the honey into the lumpy porridge and handed it to her where she tucked in eagerly.
John wasn't really sure what to do with himself on this particular day. He hadn't had a day off in quite a while so it was a strange feeling for him to have the day to himself and by even have his Daughter hanging around.
He did however know that she'd be home at lunch time today because it's the first day - so he would be able to spend the afternoon with her.

'I'm a big girl. I can get the bus' she squeaked but John knew there was no way she was getting the bus until she was at least 10 - so made it his mission to drop her at the school gate, and watch her run towards her classroom.
He wasn't surprised to find that she want the least bit phased by going to school and wasn't upset in the slightest about having to spend the day away from John.
She ran towards the door, after kissing him on the cheek, and waved before going inside and not coming back out.
John wasn't sure if he should feel proud of concerned... But he went with his overwhelming feelings of pride as he left the school grounds to go shopping.

It was strange for him to go out and have a normal day out.
No drama. No fuss. Just able to get his shopping and grab all the things that he's been lacking for the last few weeks and not be bombarded by some sort of disaster or problems.
He sat in the coffee shop at about 11 o clock and drank his coffee peacefully as he spotted a certain brunette across the street.
His eyes widened knowing straight away that it was Clara and felt instantly like jumping up to talk to her but didn't.
He decided for once to listen to Rory. John had been calling Clara once a week for over 3 months - and she didn't even call him back after they had seen each other for coffee so he had decided this was it.

'Daddy. Daddy. I want to be a vampire' Adie said - no demanded as they walked round the costume shop.
'Are you sure? I mean most 5 year olds would rather be princesses...' He said making a good point but he wasn't going to argue with the kid. If she wanted to be a vampire then that's what she shall be.
'Yeah. A vampire. With blood and fangs and a wand' an squeaked running to choose some of the napkins.
This was going to be one heck of a racy party. He had a feeling that some parents would not approve of how scary the party might possibly be.
