I stood on the terrace and stared out at the lights in the city. It was truly peaceful. I might have stood there for about ten minutes before I heard Danielle open the door to the terrace.
"Loki....is everything all right?"
I turned to her and forced a smile. "When you called me god..." I looked down. I didn't know if I could tell her. I didn't know how to tell her.
"Yeah...?"
"It reminded me of Asgard. My palace, my..." I found it hard to say the next word. "....family."
"Why don't you meet them once?" she said. I looked at her to see if she really meant it. I saw the hurt in her eyes, but she did mean it.
"i can't possibly leave you alone."
"Yes, you can, Loki. They are your parents, and they did raise you as their own... you cant..." she stopped.
"What?"
"I really should patch things up with dad, shouldn't I?"
"Patch?"
"I mean I should talk to him and make things right. And you must too, Loki. They love us, even if we decide to not obey them."
I knew she was right. I would have to speak to Odin All Father at some point. And I really did miss my brother.
"But I gave my word, Danielle. I cannot go back on it. I swore never to return to Asgard, because of my abandonment. And father said enough when he allowed me to remain in this realm."
"I think he was proud that you have changed." she took my hands in hers. "I really do."
I never thought of that. I pulled her close to me and kissed her. She believed in me. I trusted her. She wrapped her hands around me and embraced me in a warm hug. I felt complete.
"I shall go..." I smiled at her once she broke away. "You have my word, Danielle, that I will return. I shan't rest till I have you back in my arms."
"Don't have to do all that." she laughed. "Your word is good enough. Fly safe." she winked.
"HEIMDALL!" I yelled, and Danille jumped. I looked to her one last time before the Bifrost pulled me into my home.

"LOKI!" I heard Thor's great voice echo the entrance of the palace. "You have come! Just as Heimdall predicted, it's great to see you!" he pulled me into a tight hug and I might have nearly choked.
"It's good to see you, brother. How are mother and father?"
"They are well. Mother has been waiting. Father wishes to talk to you." Thor had a big smile on his face.
I walked into the throne room and knelt down with my hand on my heart, then stood up. I smiled at mother.
"Loki..." I turned to father. "I cannot say I am pleased you left us..." he began.
No father, YOU left ME. I stopped the voice, knowing well he could read my thoughts and forced myself to listen to him.
"....but I am also very proud you have changed your ways for the better." he smiled at me. "Your chambers are kept ready for your stay. Welcome home, son."
I bowed and took their leave to see Thor waiting for me. "You must tell me everything."
"What about!?"
"The mortal. Danielle. What has she done to you!?"
"She...." I searched for words to best describe how special she was. I couldn't. "She understands me."
Thor nodded as if he understood what that meant. "I am glad you found someone brother. There is nothing quite like the feeling, is there?"
"No.." I thought of Danielle, how she said father would be proud of me. How she believed in me. "...there is nothing like the feeling."
