Third person:

"Brother!"

Loki had fallen asleep. He opened his eyes to see Thor bent over him, smiling. He helped him to lean against the wall and wake up completely. Danielle was walking around the temple in the Iron Man suit, a million thoughts rushing through her mind.

"We must go..." Thor said. "Volstagg may not be able to keep the Bifrost open much longer."

Loki forced himself up and saw the Iron Man suit. "Is that Anthony Stark..?"

"No..." the mettalic voice came. The mask snapped back, and Danielle's smiling face was seen. "Danielle. My father gave it to me."

Thor made an impatient noise and ran off a second later.

"Need a lift?" Danielle asked Loki.

"I teleport. You go first..."

Her mask clicked back into placed, and she was up and with a blast, gone. Loki shimmered a slight silver and appeared before Sif and the other two warriors manning the Bifrost.

So close....

The Bifrost faded away... Volstagg hadn't been able to hold it open any longer. They were trapped.

"What should we do now..? Is there any way he could open that again?" Danielle asked.

"He would never hear us. Only Heimdall can. And he is most probably captive here... or still in Asgard." Thor sighed. "We have to get out of here, if we are found, there WILL be war."

"Yes... there will."

****

A million shards of glass, glistening in the soft moonlight rained on all of them, distracting everyone. Thor clutched his hammer tight, ready to fight, but no one was to be seen. Sif and the Warriors raised their shields and the glass made a clanging noise against Danielle's suit. A sudden scream cut through the noise, as the group looked towards Loki.

Loki knelt in the snow, his blue skin slowly fading in, his body so weak. He moved, so slightly, and the spear was seen, jutting out of his chest. His eyes closed slowly, his screams becoming whimpers, crying for life. Danielle removed her suit and knelt by Loki in the biting cold, touching his ice cold face, freezing chest and she stared at the ugly wound, a tear running down her cheek, unable to say a word. She breathed harder, not daring to touch the wound, but her hand laying on his chest.

Are you, Are you coming to the tree?

Where they strung up a man they say murdered three

Strange things did happen here no stranger would they seem

If we met up at midnight at the Hanging Tree

The song haunted Danielle. Loki was in unbearable pain but managed to smile. Smile so slow, such a small one, unreal. "It's all right, love...." was all he said, before he faded to silver.
