Danielle's POV:

The commotion outside rudely interupted my sleep. With half-open eyes, i looked around for my watch. Nearly 6 AM. That was good enough to walk across the lake, it wasnt very far from the village.

I pushed myself up and blinked a few more times to adjust to the light. I looked around and saw Thor turning something gold in his hands.

"What is that!?"

"Token of appreciation...." he tossed it to me. "It has Frigga's face on it."

The door opened and Ella entered. She immediately started blushing.

"My Lord... breakfast is ready, if you'd like some before... leaving."

Thor smiled (oh so charming!). "Thankyou, Ella... we will be right there."

She bowed and with one more look at Thor, left us.

"Im Loki's wife, dont I get a seperate invitation to breakfast!?"

"Sounds like you are jealous!" he laughed.

"No, not jealous... slightly envious."

"Positively green with envy, Wife of my Brother."

"I hope that title doesnt stick, its too long."

We stared at each other, then started laughing.

"It was a real honour to have you in our humble village." the old man told Thor.

"It was a real pleasure to stay in your village...!" Thor hugged him. "I thank the good people of Gällivare for their hospitality!" he said louder. "And I do believe I shall return!"

Cheers erupted and gifts given, prayers made and wishes granted. As we were about to leave, Thor hugged Ella and left her blushing like a school girl.

Something she probably was, anyway.

And once we left, the big iron doors closed once again.

"All right, lead the way, Danielle."

His faith in me was scary. "It's a short walk that way..." I pointed to Áhkkà. "Follow that and we'll reach the lake in a few minutes.

"How big is the lake!?"

"I dont know... I hope it remains frozen for our walk across it."

"But I can fly and you can teleport." he said.

I stopped and stared at him. Jesus, could I BE more stupid!?

"Um... right."

"You hadnt thought of that." he frowned. "We could have flown to the village."

"Well.. you didnt think of it either!"

"Im not leading this search! You're still used to being human...!"

"Just because I forgot I can teleport!?"

"No, because you take upon yourself other peoples problems and see it to the end, killing yourself in the process and hoping for praise and admiration! Not one soul in any of the other nine realms would do that!"

I stared at him in anger and frustration, and felt the tears freeze inside. With a feeling as painful and being frozen inside out, how could I ever forget I was Jotun!?

"I do NOT do this for praise an.."

He stepped forward and the next instant, his strong arms were around my body and he kissed me. Giving in to the warmth, I kissed him back.

LOKI!

I pushed him away so suddenly, he fell in the snow. I turned and.. oh gosh, the silence, WHY the silence!? I could hear myself breathe, but the rush inside my brain didnt let me hear my thoughts.

"You... you have Jane. I have Loki.."

"Right..."

"We cannot give in to something just because we..."

"I understand."

I turned back and he was still lying in the snow. I held my hand out for him to get up, but being as strong as he is, he justs ended up pulling me down, right on top of him. I quickly rolled over and got up.

Man, was this awkward.

"So... I'll meet you at the foot of the mountain?"

"Yeah..." He got and brushed himself off. "... Yeah. Ill see you there."
