A Changed Man (A Loki fan fiction)

Loki's POV

I felt my heart break. I got out of her car and shut the door, then walked to the house and let myself in. I heard her cry upstairs and teleported myself to the bedroom, appearing in my normal form.

She was sitting with her head in her hands. "Danielle... as long as I stay here, there will be a threat to the people here from the Jotuns."

"The Avengers..."

"The Avengers cannot stop them. They're frost giants. And I cannot bear the idea of them hurting you."

"So you leave me alone...." she looked at me accusingly. 

"You could come with me..." I took her hand. "I can take care of you there."

She continued to stare at me. I tried to read her mind, but I picked up nothing. She dropped her hand from mine and put it back on her lap. 

Killing me softly with his song, telling my whole life in his words...

A song seemed to go through her mind. I sat beside her on the bed. "Laufey had abandoned me..." I told her. She looked at me, her eyes red and cheeks tear stained. I continued. ".. I wasn't as big a baby as a normal Jotun baby. Father was ashamed and hid me in a temple. When the war came, I was forgotten."

I felt the cool as I turned Jotun once more. "The temple was crumbling and I was alone, maybe forgotten. I saw an Asgardian come to me and he then picked me up. He took me back to his kingdom and raised me. It felt like a few days that I grew up and he told me who I really was.." I hadn't realised I had started crying till Danielle wiped the tears off my cheek. I saw her hand wince very slightly because of my cold skin. I felt disgusted about myself before she came closer to me and kissed my ice cold cheek. She didn't wince. I turned to face her. "You see, I have to leave. Im a frost giant. Laufey will not have any frost giant turn against him and side with anything other than chaos and war. Asgard is where I'll be able to see Laufey's every move, and where you would be safe." I willed myself to turn back to normal. "You must come..."

"I dont know..."

"Would you like some time to think about it?"

"Yes, please."

I kissed her gently. "You have it." I wiped away her tears. "Would you please smile now, darling?"

She smiled her brilliant smile and I immediately felt lighter.
