Danielle's POV:

Loki's probably right... Not only would Thor knowing damage him, it would turn everything around.... What we know of Odin and Frigga, especially.

How many did they keep in the dark about this? Did Jotun babies show any signs at birth? What must have frigga been told? So Frigga is childless?

Loki knew all along... and no matter how much he went against Thor in New York... or anywhere else... he loved him enough to not tell him the truth.

This broke my heart more than anything.

I know the two of them had been through a lot, when Loki hated Thor, when Thor hurt Loki... but not once did Loki ever feel Thor deserved the emotional pain.

"Danielle...." Loki walked in quickly. "I need to talk to you..."

"I didnt tell him...!" I jumped up from the bed and took two steps back, for some reason. He stared at me. "I know you didnt..." he motioned for me to sit. "We should tell Thor."

"I..."

"Yeah, you were right and I was wrong..." he cut me off. "We need to figure out a way, though..."

"Loki, how long have you known?"

"Since I knew about myself."

"And you never told Thor, even after all...."

"He's my brother, Danielle. There would never be any excuse to explain hurting him like that."

I smiled at him. "You knew that already?" he asked.

"I figured."

"Danielle..." he picked up the book i dropped on the bed. "We need to tell him tonight."

"Why tonight!?"

"Well... he expects it tonight."

"What do you mean!?"

Thor's POV:

The last night of celebrations. The men were engaged in wiping their plates clean and assuring one another of the good time they had wresting the past few weeks. Further away, the women were gathered around the bonfire, relieved that life would return to normal. And even further, children played with wooden swords, ready to follow the footsteps of their uncles and fathers.

And among all the chaos, was Loki, walking dejectedly across the pile of men celebrating the last wrestle.

Well, his illusion. I walked to him and gave him a knowing look.

"You always know...."

I swung Mjolnir and flew up to stand next to Loki on the terrace of the palace. So high, the bonfires looked like fireflies.

"Why are you not with Danielle, Loki? You have not given her much time."

"She no longer requires it, Brother."

"Lies. She needs you now more than ever."

"Thor..."

"I suppose you are about to ask me a question i most likely have no answer to?"

Loki smiled, but it didnt touch his eyes. "What's wrong, brother?"

"Thor, there has been something eating at me for years. But saying it will destroy everything as we know it."

"Does it hurt a person?"

"In the worst way imaginable."

"And is it necassary for this person to know of it?"

"Danielle thinks so."

"Wouldnt you rather this person heard it from someone who cares for him instead of finding out and knowing you didnt tell him?"

"You're smart..."

"Yes, people are often surprised." I laughed. "Go to Danielle. She needs you." I pushed him in the direction of the staircase.

"Good night, Thor."

"Good night, Loki. Be gentle when you say whatever it is you must say. Words can cut deep."
