A Changed Man (A Loki fan fiction)

Loki's POV

"She is in her place of work. But she cannot concentrate."

"Why not?" I asked Heimdall.

He smiled. "She misses you, Loki."

I missed her too. I thanked Heimdall and made my way across the bridge back to the palace. I met Thor grinning. I got down from the horse.

"What?"

"Are you going for Anthony's show this week?"

"You mean the Stark Expo? I remember Danielle saying something about it. Why?"

"I received an invitation from Stark."

"Across realms?"

"No, e-mail. Banner taught me how to use it. You can speak to Danielle too." he took my arm and dragged me till I said "I can walk!". He let go and I went into his chambers. An odd book-like device stood on a table, quite similar to Danielle's "apple".

"Would you like to tell her something?" Thor asked me.

I thought about it and decided no. I didn't want to talk to her without seeing her face and hearing her words. No matter how much I missed her, this was not the way to do it.

"No, its all right. I'll wait till I see her." I said. "I'm sure it would be worth it." I took his leave and went into my chambers to sit on the bed. A knock came on the door.

"Yes, mother?"

Mother walked in and sat on my bed. I looked at her. After so long, she had come to see me. I don't know how exactly, but I had Danielle to thank for everything.

"Son, this Midgardian female. I understand she has changed you..." she began. "... but I must know if you plan to spend your life with her."

"I do not understand... Am I not too young to make a decision like that?"

"All I am saying is, with whatever I have seen of her and what Heimdall has told me....I feel she isint someone you can settle down with."

"Why ever not? She understands me, believes in me, and I trust her. She took care of me, and if the time ever came, I would take care of her..."

"She is the type of woman who will not settle down with a man for too long... she loves freedom."

"I shall provide it. And anything else she needs."

"She will eventually find she needs another man. I just do not want to see you hurt."

"Mother, you are hurting me by saying this." I told her. "Danielle loves me, and I love her. I absolutely trust her."

"As long as you are sure, Loki." she kissed my cheek and got up to leave. "I shall see you at supper. Try and get some rest."

I took off my helmet and lay down on the bed, troubled. Why did mother need to speak to me all of a sudden!? What did Heimdall see?
