Danielle's POV:

Well, besides that mean old man, the others were nice enough to put fresh firewood and blankets out for me. I lay down fur beside the fire and absently ran my hands up and down the blanket... The fire was dying slowly, but I had no will to save it. I rolled to stare at the half-fallen ceiling.

They're wrong. Loki isint remotely how people think of him. Who cares what the books say, who cares what old people with flirtatious daughters say, Loki was as kind as generous and loving as Thor himself. What would people think if they knew Thor was half-Jotun. They wouldnt feel so warm and fuzzy towards him. Why was it so important where you came from?

The stars... one glowed green. I narrowed my eyes to make sure I was right.

"Danielle?"

Thor.

"Hey..!" I smiled. "Lovely weather. Hard to believe it was biting cold we walked through."

He gave me a small smile and sat on the floor. "That man didnt know what he was talking about."

"Did you set him straight?"

"Took a while to shake his faith, but yes, I did... And its almost dinner time, Im looking forward to that feast."

I laughed. He pulled my arm to sit up. "Noooo" i groaned. "Let me be, I like sulking...."

He gave me a fake judgemental look and stood up. "Later, Danielle.. you must come..."

"Yeah..." I resumed my position of staring at the stars. There was no green that time.

".... and I toast to the Almighty Thor and his loyal companion.. Danielle!"

Cheers from everyone erupted and sounds of forks hitting plates after the anxious wait for the speech to end echoed. I leaned over to Thor who hadnt started yet.

"Loyal companion!? Makes me sound like a dog."

"THAT offended you!? You have no last name, Danielle... Are you Stark or Laufeyson?"

"Is Lokiswife a thing?"

He laughed. "EAT! DRINK!" he yelled and everyone cheered once more.

Not feeling very hungry, I took tiny pieces and chewed them like my mouth was full so it wouldn't offend the good people of Gällivare.

The old man came up to me sat beside me. "I apologize for what I said earlier."

"Thats okay... Im sure you had your heart in the right place, warning Thor." I continued looking at the plate, trying to not to say something i would regret.

"But bringing you down wasnt the way to do it... Will you forgive me?"

"Yeah... I forgive you." I smiled at him this time.

"My Lord spoke highly of you..."

I didnt know how to respond to that. I guess i didnt have to, he got up, bowed and left. I looked back at my plate, which was now empty. I looked at Thor.

"What, you hadnt touched an inch of it... Its a shame to waste such good food."

"How many deers have you had, Thor?"

"The Mighty Thor's mighty appetite!" he yelled and the people cheered again. Well, I guess we have it established that they like him. Ella got him his fifth drink, which was my cue to leave.

"Where are you going!?" he caught my arm. Ella stared at his hand clutch mine and she looked envious

"Back to my hut... we have to wake up early... hopefully the lake will freeze overnight and we wont need a boat to get to Áhkkà."

"Right..." he stared at his shoes. "...Áhkkà."

"Enjoy, Thor... these people have waited long to entertain you.." I looked at Ella. "Im sure you're in good hands."

He let go of my hand and looked disapointed. I shouldnt have mentioned Áhkkà... but I cant save him from it forever.

Oh Loki, what wouldn't I do to have Loki here.... I missed his body against mine and his smell and his hands... his voice and when he smiled... I hugged myself tighter with the blanket and walked faster to the hut. Somehow thinking about Loki was not allowed. Sort of over-stepping authority.
