Double Journey Chapter 7

Amethyst and Diamond put the shining new Gym Badge in the Badge Case. Silver, Green, and Red had also gotten the badge. Gold didn't battle because he's not that kind of guy, and Lyra didn't get hers and she was crying about it in the other room with the rest of the group. Amethyst and Diamond walked in to see Lyra clinging onto Gold and whining. Diamond stormed right up to her and pried her off of her boyfriend.

And then Lyra ran and cried on Red, who awkwardly patted her back and mouthed 'I'm sorry' to Amethyst, who nodded and walked up to Silver to stand beside him. "It sucks that your girlfriend flirts with everyone in sight." She muttered, clearly upset that Lyra had gone to Red.

"She's not my girlfriend." Silver said flatly. "And she never will be."

Amethyst looked at him. "Really...?"

"Yeah."

"...Oh."

She patted Silver's back, and he cringed, so she pulled her hand away. "Sorry."

And then she walked back to Red and Lyra, glaring daggers at Lyra. Magma growled and Lyra smirked, holding Red, who was growing more disgusted by the second. Finally Red pulled away to stand by Amethyst, who smiled at him. "Lets get outta here."

The group walked out of the gym quickly. Amethyst wondered what the next town's gym leader used. She hoped it would be a grass type or something so that Magma and Blaziken could whoop it.

They went to the Pokemon center to rest up and to eat, and then they headed over to the route next to the town.

There was a little bit of tall grass, and Amethyst couldn't wait to see some of Hoenn's Pokemon so she carefully walked in. Almost imediately she saw something pink, curled up in a ball with a long tail. She got out her Pokédex.

"Skitty, the kitten Pokemon," it said.

All of a sudden Lyra was all over the tiny pokemon. "OMIGOSH IT'S SO CUTE IM GONNA CATCH IT!!!" she sent out Quagsire, awakening the little Pokemon, which jumped up. "Go, Mudshot!" Quagsire shot mud at the pink pokemon, but it dodged and Lyra threw a Pokéball.

One wiggle.

Two wiggles.

Three wiggles.

Snap.

"YEEESSSS!!!!!!" Lyra shouted, fist bumping.

"Good job, Lyra." Gold said. "Your first Hoenn Pokemon.

Lyra lit up at Gold's praise, her eyes sparkling. "Thanks, Goldy!!" She put the Skitty's Pokéball in her bag. Amethyst thought Skitty was pretty cute, But now that Lyra had caught it, she would probably meet it in battle.

Diamond, in the meantime, was scowling at Lyra. "His name is just Gold to you." She snapped, walking over to her boyfriend. Gold smiled and hugged her, laughing at her possesivity. Diamond huffed, her crystal eyes meeting his golden ones.

Amethyst stepped out of the grass, and slid back, tripping over some kind of Rock. She fell back towards her friends, bracing herself to hit the ground. Magma, who was sniffing at a tree, let out a cry and ran towards her, but it was too late, she was about to hit the ground.

Before she hit, though, she felt arms wrap around her, pulling her up and to the chest of the person who caught her. She turned around, blushing as she saw Silver's stern face. "You should be more careful." He muttered, still holding her close but obviously not noticing, as he was looking away.

"Eeeehhh... Silver?" Amethyst said embarrassedly.

Silver released her, his face turning as red as his hair.

The group began to trudge on, Lyra holding her skitty, who was growling in discomfort. Amethyst walked beside Green, who was walking at the front of the pack, smiling. "Look at that boat . That boat is gonna take us to Dewford Town." In the distance, there was a huge luxury cruise ship.

Magma groaned, his flare going down. He absolutely hated anything to do with water.

Gold and Diamond were all over the idea of the cruise ship.

Lyra was too. "OMIARCEUS IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL RED" she grabbed Red's arm, dragging him towards the ship.

Amethyst sighed, unclipping Arcanine's Pokéball and releasing him. She pointed to Red. "See Lyra? Can you get her off Red?"

Thunder let out a howl, running over and dragging Red back to the group. Amethyst sent him back into the ball.

On board the cruise ship, the group was led to their room. It was on the top story of the ship and Amethyst was excited to be able to let Pearl and Lucky roam the skies above the boat.

The group settled into the room. This time there were only three beds. Lyra pushed Amethyst off the bed in the night, and she landed on Diamond's Gyarados, who was sleeping on the floor. He didn't wake up, so she snuck outside of the room with Magma creeping behind her. They walked to the very top of the ship, which had the empty pool area. When trainer and Pokemon reached the pool deck, they froze. What they saw horrified them. A man in a red hood with black ear things sticking out of it was holding a whip. In front of him stood two scratched and bruised large pokemon. One of them was obviously a dragon type. It had blue scales and large red wings. Amethyst had heard of this pokemon...it was a Salamence.

The other one looked like a huge steel dinosaur that stood on its hind legs. The pokedex classified it as Aggron.

The Strange Man lashed the whip at Salamence, evoking a frightened scream from Amethyst and a snarl from Magma. The man turned to see them. There was a white logo donishing his red attire.

Team Magma.

"Stop it! Can't you see you're hurting it?!" Amethyst cried.

"Of course I can. Who do you mistake me for, a blind man? These Pokemon are going to help us evaporate all water on earth." He began to strike down the whip again, Amethyst could see the fear in Salamence's eyes. She leapt in front of the Pokémon, taking a whip across the face. She screamed in agony, but held firm. She would not let this poor Pokémon be used in their selfish scheme. Magma let out a roar, walking over to stand in front of the man, who laughed. "Your Typhlosion can't do anything without catching fire to the ship and everyone on it!"

He lashed the whip again, hitting her on the other side of her face. She screamed again. Magma leapt on the man, biting the whip in half and brutally thrashing him. The man got up and ran, fear in his eyes. Amethyst collapsed, and felt her eyes closing. She also felt something nose her on the cheek, and a long forked tail began to lick her wound. Amethyst smiled. All of the pokemon had come over her, protecting her. Just as she had done for them.
