Double Journey Chapter 38

Arcanine's POV

I glanced behind me as Amethyst and her friends walked off to go do whatever it was that humans do at places like these. Her and the Red human were going to the food shack, so I infered that they wanted us, all their Pokemon, to go around the park and have fun. I scanned around for Glaceon, but the only one I saw was the obnoxious Nidoking, who was glimpsing back to make sure no one was watching him before he dug one of his holes. "Hey!" I barked. The purple Pokemon turned, face alit with guilt. "What are you doing!? Trying to run away!?"

"Yeah." He said in his deep voice. "What of it? I don't want to belong to a trainer who specializes in fire types."

I snarled. That was Tauroscrap! Walking over to him slowly, I said, "Amethyst doesn't specialize in any type. She loves us all the same!" My tail bristled. He was going to cause her so much grief, and I didn't want that to happen.

"Arcanine!" A feminine voice called. Oh no...Glaceon! I needed her to stay back. I didn't want Nidoking to hurt her.

Nidoking chuckled. "Here comes your girlfriend." He sneered.

"You must really be looking for trouble," I growled, as Glaceon came up beside me. "I don't even think you're worth it anymore. Just go." I glanced at Glaceon, wanting her to get out of here because I could sense Nidoking's building rage.

"Hey Nido!" Glaceon said cheerfully. " Why are you digging that hole?" I held my breath. I knew what was coming.

"None a your business, pretty girl. Hit the road!" As Nidoking swished around my mind worked in super speed. I darted inbetween the two, withstanding a strong poison tail attack that had been meant for Glaceon. As she gasped in fear, I opened my mouth and shot out a flamethrower attack that hit him square in the face. With a shout of pain, Nidoking tore down the hole and I don't think Ill ever see him again. If I do, he'll be in trouble.

"Oh yeah! I forgot to finish firing this!" Glaceon said, launching an ice beam down the hole. I panted, my way of laughing. "Do you want to go find something to eat?" I asked. My feelings were growing warmer and warmer for her by the instant. "I bet we could persuade a snack bar worker to give us some food, after all, we are BREATHTAKINGLY ADORABLE."

"Sure! I've always been good at begging. I just make big eyes and do a couple tricks. But with this duo, we'll clean out the entire snack bar!" Glaceon smiled excitedly. I told her to hop on my back, and we would get there at Extreme Speed.

Glaceon and I had made out like bandits. We had chips, cookies, drinks, and Pokemon Food, which we left untouched. We snuggled underneath a roller coaster, but I don't know which one because I can't read. As we talked and ate, we looked up at the roller coaster passing by.

We spent a lot of time down there, until I heard Amethyst's whistle, signaling for me to go to her. I put Glaceon on my back and we sped off.
