Double Journey Chapter 43

In the morning, the sun didn't wake Amethyst. Overwhelming energy did! She sat up from the fluffy sheets, and next to her, Diamond did the same. They both somehow new that it was a summer-shopping kind of day.

Amethyst dressed in a flowy white tank top with a long heart pendant and ripped denim shorts. Then, her and Diamond set out to the Lavaridge Mall,

"Have fun!" Green called after them.

The sun was hot on Amethyst's back, but she didn't mind. She walked alongside Arcanine, Glaceon, and Diamond- Magma and Blaziken refused to take part in 'Girl Stuff.'

Soon, they arrived at the mall. They met trainers from all around who wanted to take Selfies with them- it was quite fun, actually.

Diamond and Amethyst got some smoothies, and then began shopping.

Amethyst glanced at Diamond. "You know... If we're gonna go...let's see, clubbing? We'll need a dress."

The two walked into Partay, the popular night club dress store. Most of the dresses were ratchet, but finally Amethyst found one.

Amethyst settled with a sophisticated black dress that didn't show off too much, but a lot of her back was exposed. It was tight until it came to her hips, then it fanned out until it came to just above her knees. The bodice of the dress was separated from the skirt by an intricate line of roses.

Diamond got a darker turquoise dress that was modeled in almost the same way, but with large roses going down the bodice.

Happy with their choices, they paid and left.

The rest of their mallshopping was a lot of fun! Amethyst bought a flowy dark blue top with scalloped white shorts, some cute denim shorts, a light neon pink tank top, a cute leather purse, some cute bikinis, sparkly black eyeliner, a few summer dresses, black heels to go with her dress,and a few cute tops with Pokémon quotes from famous Pokémon masters.

Arcanine approved almost every item she got, except the heels. He was scared she would fall!

After they were done shopping, they met the manager of the mall, who was a huge fan. He asked them if they could do an autograph signing and Q/A, how could they say no?

Autographs first. They met so many cute fans! A blonde girl with brown eyes walked up to Amethyst and have her a big hug. "Thank you so much," said the girl, who couldn't have been more than 13. "You saved me, and inspire me! Because of you, I'm 100 days clean today."

Amethyst hugged her back. "You are the real champion. What's you're name?"

"Ella." She replied.

After that, Amethyst and Diamond sat at a table in two uncomfortable chairs. A lot of fans told Amethyst, well, the story of their lives, which Amethyst listened to as best as she could and responded appropriately. She also let Arcanine stamp his paw on the pictures for people who asked- an extra treat.

One little boy came just for Arcanine. When he saw him, he squealed and hugged him. Arcanine looked startled until the boy broke away. "This Pokémon," he said to Amethyst. "Is how I get the bullies to leave me alone. I say, One day I'll be champion, and in cahoots with Amethyst Blackthorn's Arcanine, and then you'll be in trouble."

Amethyst smiled. "Of course. But why not actually be able to show them this?" She wrote down her number. "Give me a call if you need Arcanine's roar. I'll always pick up."

The Q/A was a lot of fun.

"Diamond, do you miss Sinnoh?" Was the first question.

Diamond: Well, yes and no. Sinnoh was great. I met my Pokémon, started my life. But here, I've met people who I intend to stay the rest of my life with.

Crowd: Awww.

Reporter: Amethyst, what was your best time in Johto?

Amethyst: That would have to be when I first met Arcanine as a Growlithe. It was a stormy night and I had no where to go, not a town in sight. And then I see a little glow, and it's him, in a little cave, beckoning to me with a flame. I raced inside and flopped over next to the cute little rascal-and just like that he was mine!

Reporter: Diamond, Describe your bond with your partner, Blaziken.

Diamond: We have that special bond that no one could understand. I just love him so much.

Reporter: Amethyst, what were your emotions when you became the Johto Champion?

Amethyst: I was amazed at what I could do and I just kept asking myself, is this for real, did you just kick a dragon master's butt with fire types? It was

just a warm feeling of pride spreading through me.

Reporter: Alright, one last question for both of you. so how are your lovers? We all know Red and Gold.

Amethyst spoke first. "I'm afraid those ships have sunk. I do not consort with people who try to keep me out of important battles because I look weak, or because I am a girl and I'm "Not made for fighting." That's a quote from Red himself actually. Telling me to stay back." Her rage was limitless.

Diamond stood up. "They were trying to disown us of our jobs. Because we're just girls. Quote both Gold and Red! Well, they can't do that, our job is to protect any good person from harm, to fend off for the ones that actually need help. Red and Gold have no right to call us out! We are champions! We are all champions!"

Amethyst nodded. "If anyone ever tries to keep you from your needs because of gender roles, you tell them. You tell

them what we said. And you go replete your needs like the champion you are."

The audience was shocked. And then they erupted into cheers.
